Thanks for always bringing out an actor’s sense of humor. That’s why I love your interviews. 😊 I’m enjoying this show in spite of it not being perfect. I think it gets better with each episode so I’m looking forward to multiple seasons. Best parts of episode 6? The way Arondir acted starstruck meeting Galadriel, anything with Adar, and seeing those horses cross Middle Earth. Oh, and Halbrand (Charlie) is gorgeous.

It's the writing. The actors are decent, (Elendil, Adar, and evil Halbrand are especially good) but god, the writing is just awful. The dialogue is cringe, all of it is just bad. Even the visuals aren't that good, which is tragic because they spent $1B on this. The armor looks like plastic most of the time, lmao. The only visuals I was in awe of were the shots of Khazad-Dum. But yeah, it really is just the writing. And because House of the Dragon, such an exceptionally written show, is airing at the same time, the writing flaws are that much more apparant. Also, being a Tolkien fan makes it a whole lot worse, as they have butchered the story and characters, and the writers' excuse is, "Well, Tolkien never EXPLICITLY said this didn't happen, so it's canon!", which is really fucking stupid. Like, by that logic, they're right! I guess Tolkien never explicitly said Galadriel didn't have a nine-inch dick. Like wtf? I think there is some potential for season 2 to get better, but this season was just so godawful. The only plots I liked were the dwarves, and the Harfoots in episodes 1 and 2. After that the Harfoot plotline was bad. The Numenorean and Southlands storylines were horrendous, full of inconsistencies and stupid shit, not to mention battle tactics so bad they make me wanna puke.

If you ignored the plodding slow plot, the almost anti Irish racism of the character of the harfoots, appalling acting by among others Morfydd. Events that make no sense when related to later events / history in lord of the rings and hobbit. The ridiculous battle screens that make no sense, the combat training scene that was so it was just funny. Some one jumping of a ship in mid ocean to swim home?? Inconsistent time lines between different locations such as including transportation of characters in ridiculous times compared with what happened elsewhere in the world. Why do ships float and rocks sink.. Omg 😳. There is so much more but I’m bored already but they proved that it’s possible to spend large amounts of cash and produce a boring, generic fantasy show much like much of what has appeared in last 5+ years. But hey enjoy, just don’t call it good

@@multik- hmmm…I assumed that after they had set up the trap they had time to sneak out to watch from faraway spot. Arondir did say to Bronwyn they had days (maybe hours) before the orcs would march on them based on how far the orc camp was. Once all the orcs marched to the tower/the tower fell, the people had a clear shot to the village that the orcs left behind.

People should not blame the actors for this show. Most of them are young or youngish and are literally only doing as they're directed in what is cleary a huge earning opportunity for them all. The Rings of Power is not their fault so they shouldn't bear the brunt of anybody's criticism. It's such a shame that they won't get any work after this show because they've not been able to demonstrate their true acting ability. The actors did a great job but that cannot be said about the writers. Wish the writers would have made Galadriel less warrior and more sophisticated in what she says and does. I understand that they aim to show how she matured since then and got to be the one of wisest elves in the Third Age. But common, even at Second Age she should be less arrogant and stubborn having behind hundreds of years of living. There were moments when her character really played on my nerves, especially in Numenor, and how she despised people there. Hope in the S2 the writers will make her more gentle and focused here on saving Middle-earth, instead of always making her hate Sauron. I also wish they would disclose more such characters as Gil-galad and Celebrimbor. They are not less important than her.

TROP is the kind of show you expect to get from first time showrunners, who continue to say they respect the lore but don't. When Peter Jackson decided to make the Lord of the Rings everyone in a high level position on the film crew had read the books over and over and loved and respected Tolkien's work. They were always mindful of the thematic content and didn't put any of their baggage into the movies because they loved the mythology as Tolkien wrote it. J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay are NOT fans of Tolkien's work and it shows everywhere throughout this billion dollar dumpster fire. Their intent was to do the exact opposite of what Jackson did. No one in a high level position on this show is a dedicated fan of Middle Earth. The few true experts they hired like Tom Shippey were fired for disagreeing with Payne and McKay and what they were doing to the mythology. They have not respected the thematic material, canon or lore in fact, they have completely disrespected it. The unmitigated gaul of these two amateurs believing THEY know better than Tolkien how to write the second age of Middle Earth have produced a show that is bad across the board. Bad directing, editing, pacing, storytelling, acting, dialogue and generally all aspects of cinema except the CGI, and a billion dollars worth of that SHOULD be decent. If this story had nothing to do with Tolkien it would still SUCK! That they, in their infinite lack of wisdom, decided to dump ALL their PC and Woke baggage into the singularly greatest work of fantasy fiction of all time shows just how clueless they are. They wanted their story to reflect the world we live in today. Just one problem with that boys and girls, no one reads or watches fantasy fiction to be reminded of the world they live in. In fact, it is loved because it provides an ESCAPE from the world we live in today! Middle Earth is a fictional account of an English/Northern European pre-history. There were no black elves, black dwarf women without beards, black Harfoots/Hobbits or black or asian humans because those races did not live in this English/Northern European geographic location! Diversity has to make sense within the story parameters. The showrunners are total "Bad Reboot" untalented, uninspired and unsuccessful Hollywood hacks! The season ending "big reveals were laughable. Everyone knew Meteor Man was Gandalf even though he wasn't due to appear in Middle Earth for another thousand years or so. Everyone knew Halbrand was Sauron from the moment he appeared on screen. Warrior "Guyladriel" did not exist.....ever. Tolkien's Galadriel was so much more powerful than TROP's Guyladriel because she used her intellect and sorceress powers of persuasion to get what she needed. What she didn't need was to be a sword wielding, "Mary Sue/Karen", Zena warrior princess! Bezos must certainly be feeling buyers remorse for having hired Jar Jar Abrams incompetent production team. A billion dollars for a show that could have been great but for the clown car of talentless hacks that were put in charge of it. I hope the other 4 seasons get cancelled before the next 2 years pass. Let this abomination pass into history with all the fanfare accorded an unmarked grave. That's all it deserves. RIP TROP....you suck!

The only reason why I haven't watched this show is because I watched HotD first. And it'll be an information overload for me with all the names of characters and places and everything else. But at least I can binge this when all episodes are out.

I’m sorry I get you have your opinion which is valid. But this is so far from the truth it’s not even funny. It’s genuinely a billion dollar mistake and specifically the actress who plays Galadriel was horribly miscast for this role. I’m sure she’s great in other things.

@@elck3 nah, she was not horribly miscast. She's a perfect choice for Galadriel, they just didn't give her the right material to work with. Blame the writers, she's just an actress following what the script and the director told her to do. Also she's a Welsh actress and Galadriel is heavily influenced by the Welsh culture according to Tolkien so I don't see any miscast on her, just poor writing

Have to definitely give the actors and actresses a major thumbs up!! Not an easy script to work with! Hands down! Convoluted story par excellence. The art and costume department also 5 stars. Impressive! For the most part. (Wonder why the cgied extras though🤔🙄) Alas, its not really Tolkien. "Go back to the book" was not really adhered to, but, in defense, Amazom did NOT buy the full rights. Sooo......yep.
