Don't want to be cliche, but I've been watching your videos for a good year or so now but this is the first time I'm commenting, I just wanted to say that I've been really binging on your content lately and you've got me wanting to push myself and raise my tolerance so I can enjoy hotter and hotter peppers, I absolutely love Ghost flavour but no way could I eat a fresh pod yet, but you have inspired me to aim to get there (and beyond). Keep up the fantastic work, sir, you are an absolute legend and I love what you're putting out at the minute, some beautiful pods here, the David & Goliath series is fantastic, and I loved the past videos with your son too. Also, being from the UK you'd imagine that when I watch your contest videos over here, I'd root for the Chilli Queen or another Brit to win, but in truth, nothing would please me more than to see you be the first person to beat Chilli Queen, one day, Mr Scoville!

Johnny Scoville! I smashed that pepper button several months back, and I’ll tell ya what brotha... I do feel like I’m a part of the family... and much of what you say makes me grateful for the rarified few like you there are in this world! Oddly enough, what you have spoken about recently, often in a tangential manner, during your POD SEASON vids has resonated with me and helped me through some tough times I’ve had lately...let me explain. I always had a love of the “spicy”. In the 90’s I casually moved on from jalapeños to habaneros and definitely noticed the difference and enjoyed the extra heat. Fast forward to 2017 and I try some ghost pepper salsa that an “acquaintance” of mine had been urging non chili heads to try, saying that it was a little hot, but delicious. Dozens of people had warned me about this guy and told me “don’t do it”, about half of them had ended up in panic mode. I knew then I wanted to be the exception to his rule, but honestly I was pretty scared but made up my mind to do my best. I ate half a pint(all that was left, spoonful by spoonful ). The best part came when I experienced my first endorphin rush and started laughing at him while I downed the last few spoonfuls. I’m strictly a single A minor leaguer, but I’m training in hopes of making it to the majors. Thank you sir, for helping me get inside my own head and for helping me realize it’s ok to have issues. Peace(with a bit of pain, or are they the same?!?)to you always!

Jose Gomez it’s not much that people would want. Serrano, jalapeño, habanero, bell and banana. My plan was to build my tolerance with the hot ones, can the banana and turn them into pepperchinis, and just use the bell in cooking. I’m making salsa with some too. Go Johnny. Natural highs are the best highs.
@ParallelUniversity4 жыл бұрын
@Real 6thCypher The difference is that weed is a drug like any other drug, changing how your body and mind works on a chemical level. The pepper high has nothing to do with changing your body's chemistry, it has to do with the body's natural pain response. You could get the same endorphin rush by stabbing yourself with a knife, but unlike the knife, the capsaicin won't actually hurt you. Johnny sees the peppers as a loophole to get the endorphin rush from pain without the tissue damage that usually accompanies pain.
@ParallelUniversity4 жыл бұрын
@@maxpower10k Go on the subreddit "leaves" and tell me there aren't thousands of people whose lives were ruined by weed. Name one person whose life was ruined by peppers. Been there, done that, won't ever go down that path again.
@DS-xb1yd4 жыл бұрын
@@ParallelUniversity The problem with your argument is that it implies weed is capable of harm... fact: it's not, by definition (technically, you can only be addicted to a drug - not a plant)... even if these "addicts" beat their supposed "addiction", they won't have tackled the root of their problems - their weak minds... I've smoked weed every day for the last 10 years and I haven't seen ANY sign of being addicted... "there aren't thousands of people whose lives were ruined by weed" I don't know why you said that when it clearly destroys your argument... "Name one person whose life was ruined by peppers" tell that to the pepper spray victims who barely lived to tell the tale...
