Biting at the wrist in the choreography is showing them biting off the things that bind them (expectations or other similar metaphors) and setting themselves free. Many layers for the lyrics, talking about someone they love romantically, talking about the other members, their fans, and themselves. Always good stuff from Twice.

Onset meaning of the song is they want to be set free and have an "official" relationship with someone without feeling trapped or judged by others. Basically asking for "Love" to set them free. Another take would be is, since they released the song outside of Korea, (having the premiere at the 'Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon') it can be seen as Twice being "set free" to the West. Chae jumping UP and the MV's fake ending may symbolize the end of Bubblegum Korean Girl group Twice into the NEW Conquer the WEST Twice. UNLEASHING the Beast that is TWICE.

that mina's part you are so right, nayeon even talked about something like that in youngji's interview last year. I feel like twice even being a big group they are still very underrated, people don't get how talent and hardworking they are so they get a lot of criticism, i'm happy with this song that they're basically letting all this go

You're gonna love the bside Wallflower cuz it's a song about a shy, lil bit introverted love insterest. Wallflower is a metaphor for people that prefer to be close to walls or corners in crowded places

Your comment on the imagery during Mina's part at the beginning reminded me of her part in Icon: "Spotlight on me even when we're laying in the dark. I don't even mind them seeing all my battle scars" (song which was released as Jeongyeon was safely coming back from her hiatus and still not that long after Mina's own hiatus) and i never would've thought of it had you not pointed the scene out so thanks for that. The members have been through wayyyy too much like way too much, both collectively and individually. Anyways this was insightful as usual

Yeah, I feel bad for the amount of judgement and analysis that idols go through. It must feel like they're constantly under a microscope from people looking for (and sometimes making up) flaws. I can't imagine going through that, even if there are amazing things that come with being an idol too

The bite to the wrist by the way is them ripping off the symbolic chains that bind their hands! (Personally--and I say this with much love to all the girls--I think most of them do it so cutely 😂 Jihyo though I think does pretty well to convey that she's biting them off, but you see it more in the MV teaser / performance videos, since they cut away from her in the MV :) ) (Fun fact, they had a performance at an award show wherein they danced to three songs--the first song has a lot of imagery taken from the Garden of Eden in Genesis, and after that song, Jihyo was given special choreo where she had to mime taking a chunk out of the Forbidden Fruit...it was pretty intense, haha, girl's good at biting things. That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this choreo :))) )

I mean, I don't know about this comeback, but JYP is known to keep his artists in the recording booth until he is satisfied with what they recorded, and the girls often go back and ask to re-record things they aren't satisfied with. Autotune is definitely a legit way to make things sound like you want them, but I'm not sure they didn't keep redoing it until they got the right sound.

Actually the Korean lyrics are different from the translation, they used the English version as the translation. Idk why they did that and it's the first time too, even so your interpretation is very interesting.

Feel special is one of my favorite Twice song i can't wait for you to watch it . People general opinion about it is sound wise it's not the best Twice song but the lyrics most people agree that it is the best and everyone can relate to it . Twice's adlibs will always take me out. They nail all their adlibs from title to bsides. Most of the high notes adlibs are done by Jihyo and Nayeon, sometimes Jeongyeon. For cuter and/or softer vocals, it's usually Sana and Chaeyoung. Mina does adlibs too, very calm like. Overall, it's mostly Jihyo, Nayeon and a bit of Chaeyoung.
