@@Crusader47 well why not? They have little side boats for recovery, man overboard maneuvers are common. If there's not some specific reason then he should've gotten picked up.

@@Crusader47 even if you think that in a convoy then the last ship can pick him up. Plus in these types of convoys equipment and resources get moved between ships regularly, transferring him back to his ship would've been easy. With the amount of man overboards that happen just leaving a value man in the water, especially while not under attack would be a massive sacrifice in morale that's just simply not worth it. Higher morale makes everyone perform better far more valuable than a single man. Which is actually the main reason that most rescue missions happen.
