I lived in Gunnison County (Marble) for a couple of years, but I never rode that. I think I thought it would take all day or two. I’m going back in a couple of weeks. I’ll probably do this. Thanks. 👍🏻👍🏻

Do you have a map I can look up or sent to me of your trip? Trying to get a trail ride like this together for July.

Agreed, and will try to be more attentive to this issue. About the only time I ride off trail is to get video of my group riding by, which is hard to do while on trail if its a single track. There was one video (Rosebud Gulch Trail) where several riders are seen way off-trail, but those guys aren't part of our group. No clue who they were; just someone passing my group.

Where/how did y'all refuel... We're planning to do this very soon. 🙂

We refueled in Aspen. Just don't be stupid on the pavement in town and you should be fine. No guarantee of that, obviously. We've been twice and had no problems. One trip we even stopped for a bite, parking 6-8 bikes on the road. We backed the bikes up to the curb to better conceal that most of them weren't plated. Had the same experience in Telluride the one time we made that trip, including passing a Constable at a Stop Sign who was very chill. One of the guys in our group even stopped to talk to the guy. Enjoy the ride. It's a LOT of fun. P.S. If you get an oversized Acerbis aftermarket tank on your FI bike, you don't have to worry about refueling. ;-)

@@singletrackscott1053 Thanks for the quick response!! A couple more answers might ease my anxiety 🙃 1. It looks like the trail ends at a gondola, how do I get to the paved road from there? 2. What's the approximate distance & time each direction?

Beautiful views but I'd have a hard time with my Pan America on that trail!

How many miles was that did you guys need to refuel
@singletrackscott10533 жыл бұрын
Depends on the bike. The KTM 300 2-strokes have a slightly smaller tank than KTM 350 4-strokes (2 gal vs. 2.5 gal), and the 2-stroke guys tended to ride at higher RPMs. On my 350 XCF-W, I get about 40-45 mpg, so right around 100 miles per tank. The 450 4-strokes burn more fuel. In fact, in anticipation of this year's trip (which is next week), one of the guys on a 450 installed a larger tank.
