Why do they use a normal rake for hay and the merger for silage? And not the merger for both?

Merger is heavier built for silage than a rake. Merger is really just better a rake could do it but you could break some stuff

Mergers work good for silage greener crop spinner rakes fluff up the hay and move the wet clumps to the outside
