Specially when it's 200 watt at 3 ohms like that doesn't make sense at all means at 8 ohms your not even seeing 100 watts which is what my bam 200 from tc electronics gives me into the bc208 (2x8)

Cool video, Patrick. 😎🤘🏻🎸 those amps do sound nice. The distortion channel sounds killer with the stingray bass. And I do agree on listening to new bands. I’ve been checking out new wave of traditional heavy metal bands and they sound incredible.

Ohhhhh man that peavey bass 😮. 500 bucks.. Pass for me considering for half that you can find a tc electronics bam 200 or the tc th250 and they both give half power at 8 ohms while the darkglass heads run minimum 3 ohms which means you'll get less then 100 watts if you use it for a 8 ohm cab and less then 200 watts at 4 ohms
@BobEllis796 ай бұрын
@@Jihadbearzwithgunzthis is incorrect, it's a full 200w at 4ohms (not 3ohms) and 100w at 8ohms, not sure where you got your info

Is 200W enough? When with a drummer, I prefer a bit more headroom. And some of the missing features, especially the dry DI out and minimal EQ settings, are rather disappointing, I’m a bit confused by this product, but great demo and review as always!
@fistinair19792 жыл бұрын
Depends on the drummer and the cab you are using probably. I'd want at least a 4ohm 4x10 with a hard hitting drummer.

I hooked up to my marshall dbs 2x15 cab and while I'm sure the speakers wanted more power , this little darkglass powered and made it thump without issue and would've blown the speaker without any problems as well. Definetly a powerful little amp. It did get warm after a couple hours of playing but I'd expect that with a small amp like this with what I was doing ; but it wasn't excessive. Quite normal to what you'd feel even with a big solid state.

@@ianstrickland5280 make money ? Like the CEO say "one more day one more dollars" where before it was more to really make good gear and make people happy. Also, no me because I keep only the AO pedal, but a lot of people wait for the midi footswitch for the E500 amp (I have got it a week, pure joke, 500W that push nothing and first amp I heard that has lag and bug) and they say that they will add 10 more effects or 12 this years and they add 2 or 3. They also said before that for the compressor hyper luminal they will add new model of compressor in it, nothing. I have just the AO pedal and element for cabsim because they sound great but it bug sometimes so it work when he want. Super cool

200 class D watts is going to be useless for all but the most efficient 4 ohm cabs.
@Jihadbearzwithgunz2 жыл бұрын
Even then still won't be the full 200 watts it's rated at 3 ohms minimum have no clue why they did that as you can't run 3 8 ohm cabs as that's 2.67 ohms and could damage the head and same story for one 4 ohm cab and a 8 ohm cab.

IMHO, this is a hype cash-grab. 1. You can't control the distortion with footswitch, so on a gig/rehersal if you have a distorted part of the song, quickly mess with the knobs or just.. buy a darkglass pedal (cash-grab) 2. Min 3ohm is bullsh*, which actually begs the question, is it only 200W at 3 ohm, so is it like.. only 170W at 4ohm, which is the way everybody is gonna use it 3. No USB, so can't use it as a recording interface, you can only use it with DI which is not ideal 4. No compressor, no b3k/vmt, so you only get one drive circuit and nothing additional 5. Their other amps are breaking quite often so.. if these are made with the same quality standards, it's a hard pass (a friend's Microtubes 500 fried itself in a day because the fan doesn't work when used as a recording station with no cab polugged in) 6. Honestly.. just a get you favourite DG drive pedal and buy a nice reliable amp Still a great video Patrick!
