I’ve been charity shopping since 1986! Yes, I’m middle aged 😂. People are selling on FB Marketplace more now and charity shopping is so much more fashionable to do so it’s not surprising that there aren’t so many nice things in the shops. Shops are really hiking up their prices too! Years ago, I got tons of good stuff all the time, now not so much which is very sad. I think the golden age has gone! 😢😢😢😢

Jacamo used to be a men’s big and tall brand that are owned by the same group as JD Williams. Although all of their high street stores have been shut down. Looking online you can still pick them up from their website and a few retailers. Used to have a few famous faces as sponsors for their tv ads; most notably Freddie Flintoff.

Worst charity shop blunder for me was buying (for my own use) a pair of *used* Asda (George) jeans only to find that on the Asda website, the exact same jeans were £3.00 cheaper *BRAND NEW* Needless to say I was miffed and made mental note to myself...Avoid these (once upon a time) so called 'bargain' shops.

That enables you to scan an object and filter to recently sold items. From there I quickly analyse it and see if it’s worth me buying to resell for more. I hope that helps

My local charity shop sells anything with a name on it for inflated prices so 5 China tea cups and saucers I saw recently they had £25 on them 😲 they have old knitting patterns mostly 80s used to be 5p now 20p I found a very old one from the 50s that one was £1 ok not a deal breaker but still feels unfair when it's all donated. They know people resell so increase the prices

I know plenty of people that are well off and still shop in charity shops, and people shop in charity shops for all different reasons the idea of a charity shop Is raising money for charity, so the customers money is going towards charity so what that person then decides to do with those items is completely up to them they have paid for them items.

​@@andrewthomas2406 That doesn't make sense. The person buying is donating. Once something is sold, it's entirely up to the buyer what they do with it. Besides, charity shops are limited by what people are willing to spend in their locale, and also by space. They have to move stock in order to have room for new donations. If people in that area won't buy at higher prices, the shop becomes unprofitable, can't move goods through and can't do fresh displays. Unsold items end up going to the Rag man or the recycle depot.
