According to the GR86 forum, RTV is not a big deal and does not lead to engine failure. I couldn't find any explanation why it suffers from drop in oil pressure in hard right turns tho

I believe they have addressed this for the ‘24 model year. There have been documented cases of oil starvation but they are rare. Still it’s an annoyance knowing it’s there.

It’s slim to none that if it happens, it will effect your car. Interesting that KZbin likes to scare people for likes. It’s the best car you can get for the price, if you can actually drive. Or get one.

I'm in the market for the 22/23 GR86/BRZ, I plan on daily driving it. I also wanted to track it like once or twice every couple of months. I was wondering if I was to remove the oil pan and take out the loose RTV and then install a baffle plate, would I be okay driving it without having to worry about it blowing up on me? I'm also thinking about installing a oil cooler as well.

Yet please give me a record case beyond maybe a very small small number maybe if any, that the engine failure was due to the RTV. I can’t with people worrying about something that I have yet to hear was the cause of a failure in there car.
