Nice job! For pieces that won't be handled daily, I have used button shellac (for a warmer aged look or sanding sealer to keep the wood's original color) buff with cotton rag and heat from turning. Then topcoat with carnuba wax. The shellac or sanding sealer dries faster than the oil and the carnuba simulates a French polish. Then shine can be reduced if needed by using a softer wax or wax blend. I repaired antiques before becoming a turner so I had to learn to copy many finishes, so I probably have more varieties of finishes than most turners do.

Gospodin Tomislav, evo o tome sam komentiral. A to me baš zanima kakav je to instrument.
@tomislavtomasicwoodturning8 ай бұрын
@marijanzanoski99998 ай бұрын
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning pokušat ću i automatski prijevod. Hvala.

Thanks for the video. It should be polished after 2 days, when the oil dries.
@tomislavtomasicwoodturning9 ай бұрын
This method dries so fast, its so little oil and heat and friction start to dry it out... Especially with wax on top which melts with oil.... I have done like this so many times without any issue but if using oil off the lathe then sure, you have to wait to completely dry 😀
