Lead singer Shaun Morgan wrote this song, which deals with the pain of being apart from someone you love. He wrote it for his new daughter because he was always leaving to play music. Amy Lee and Shaun were in a relationship I think from 2003 to 2005 but ended things because of Shauns drinking.

He wrote it for his WIFE and daughter it was about WAY more than him just leaving alone, unfortunately. It's unfortunate that someone who f*vked him over so hard is the version of those song they always listen to. The original doesn't include Amy Lee, and it's WAY better because this is about HIS loss, HIS divorce, and HIS daughter. His emotions are way more evident when alone, and Amy Lee isn't there. Also Amy Lee abd Shaun's relationship ended for WAY more things than just him drinking. Her manipulation, controlling behavior, nitpicking, and toxicity. Every single person who has ever worked with her or been in a band with her had all said the exact same things about her awful and entitled behavior.

I seem to recall an interview she did that explained the wings. Something along the lines of "cause im a f'n rock star" AKA no reason other then she wanted to.

Another great duet (and way more recent): Bring Me the Horizon w/ Amy Lee - I'm not going to put the title because it is long, but it should be super easy to find. There is only a lyric video, but it's worth doing. Better harmonies and the song has a fun back story to research. 🙂

Fyi...yes, Amy Lee and the singer Shaun Morgan were a couple when this came out, but the relationship ended bitterly because of Shaun's drug and/or alcohol addition, I believe
