If you died but still had lives, you'd just restart the level you died on, but the original Mario game didn't have a way to save progress, so if you ran out of lives, you started back at the very beginning of level 1 with no way to jump back to where you ran out of lives outside of built-in short-cut routes. Jaiden: We beat the level in 10 minutes. "I guess Mario games are that easy?" Mario levels usually take less than 3 minutes, and it's not because they're easy, it's because they're short.

Dyslexia is specifically getting letters twisted up with each other. Like how there's four lowercase letters that all look alike: d b p q. This is the most common example, but not the only one. Soemtemis dylseixa can look liek leettrs are all jubmled up. When it's numbers that are seen this way, that's actually dyscalcula. Lexia = words, calcula = numbers. Being directionally challenged is probably related to proprioception, which is the sense of where you are and how you're positioned. Directionally challenged is the closest there is to a snappy term for it.

2:54 it means that the game puts you at the begining of level 1-1 every time you tan out of life. 4:32 not really, it's just the first few level are mean to work as a tutorial, so they quite simple and short. 6:22 dislexia had nothing to do whit number, Dislexia is when the person has problems especifically at learning to read and write and even problems doing said action's once they have learn how to, it makes it hard to relate writen words whit the sound they make when they are spoken and it may jumble the letters of a word in you head or or jumble the letters when you read a word. At least that's what my cousin told me.

The original Super Mario Bros. had no saving system, as this was before the feature was created - keep in mind that this is definitively one of, if not the *first* home console video game, and obviously, arcade machines were meant to be played by multiple people so all they saved were the high scores, if you ran out of lives that was the end of your run. That's how the original SMB works. No save states, if you run out of lives you're sent all the way back to 1-1 even if you were on the final level when you died.

There _is_ a continue system in place though, albeit extremely hidden. I don't remember the exact button combination (I'm sure someone else will know) but performing it when you die will send you back to the start of the last world you game over'd on.

Certain ones, like Mega Man, even have a boss at the end of EVERY level. With Mario games (especially the 2D games), it's usually only in the castles at the end of each world.

Honestly, you can make an arguement for Mario Kart being bigger than Super Mario. Mario Kart 8 has consistently been either the top 1 or 2 best selling Switch game, and Nintendo clearly finds the spin-off more profitable than the original series.
