Loved your reaction! It's been about 11 years since I stanned him and he still makes my brain melt, so yeah it's always gonna happen lol. I'd suggest watching IDEA next because it's the single from Act 2 of the album Criminal is on, they're connected to each other! There's also a prequel MV for a song called 2 Kids, he does a lot of freestyle dancing in it and it was filmed in Paris when SuperM were there on tour.

AHH CRIMINAL!! No joke, this was my favorite song of 2020. I couldn't stop listening to it! You're so right: there's something so unbelievably sexy about him, it's hard to put into words. The way he moves and uses his body to express the song is breathtaking. He really is quite something else. Can't wait for you to get to Move! There are three different versions of it: the main MV, a performance video of him with (female) dancers, and a MV of him dancing with just one female dancer (a well-known Japanese dancer). Since you absolutely love watching him with the female dancers, I def recommend watching Move 2 or Move 3! (I also think Want will leave you on the floor as it's very similar to Advice and Criminal in terms of video artistry) So excited to see you react to more!

The version with a female dancer is actually him dancing with the "Move" choreographer. She's Koharu Sugawara, the choreographer of some Taemin's title tracks; Criminal (she and Kasper did Criminal choreo), Want, Move, Flame of Love and Sayonara Hitori/Goodbye. She also did "Good Evening" choreo, which is one of SHINee's title track. She's a phenomenal dancer as well and it's so great that Taemin has the chance to work with such a respected choreographer in dancing community. Many says that Koharu plays a big role of broadening Taemin's view and dancing vocabularies, so much, that people often mistaken him as a contemporary dancer when actually his roots are popping and locking. What I admire of Taemin dances with female dancers is how he really utilizes them as equal. They're not there as eye candy or worse, to shake their asses and boobs as sexual objects in the background. That's never been the case in Taemin's MVs. The girl squad in his team are strong dancers, dance as hard and fast as their male counterparts. It's a treat to watch them really. Ah, the two female dancers here are Simeez and Rian, both are well known choreographers too. They choreographed "Heaven" for Taemin, they also did Aespa's "Next Level". Rian has also choreographed for Boa and Chungha. Lol, that shows how crazy good his dancers actually

Yes, yes, we fully understand everything you were trying to say but couldn't quite get out. 😂 Taemin is a work of art and I too can't get over the way he dances. I recommend you check out the dance practices for his songs too, they are always phenomenal. He has practices for almost all of his title tracks (unfortunately so far we don't have one for Advice as I think he didn't have time to film it before his enlistment, but we do have a Studio Choom for that instead). You'll fall even more in love with his dancing when you can see the full choreo! I consider him the best dancer in Kpop just because the way he can move is so indescribably mesmerizing to me.

Thanks for reacting to Taemin again. Many new Kpop enthusiasts sleep on him because he's a 2nd gen artist, to their extreme detriment. There are three things to remember when reading Taemin's lyrics and watching his MVs: 1) Taemin usually has at least two (sometimes 3) meanings, as in "Advice", for his lyrics/MVs: A) take them as you read them and be happy; or B) delve more deeply to reveal the true meaning. His MVs tell a story. 2) Taemin is a Christian (devout Catholic) so there is also usually a lot of religious imagery, symbolism, metaphors, and allusions within his lyrics and MVs. Again, during this his live performances, if you know to look for it, he often integrates the sign of the cross into his choreo. 3) Taemin is DEEP and very intellectual. Much of what we know about the lyrics come from listening to him explain it on interviews and IG LIVEs. The rest is due to our (fans) research. "Criminal" is part of his 3-pt. storyline for his 2020 "Never Gonna Dance Again" (NGDA) album (MASTERPIECES-both acts). "2 Kids" is the prologue illustrating the schism of his persona into two distinct egos; "Criminal" is Act 1; and "IDEA" is Act 2 with the concept of Plato's Theory of Forms" which encompasses the climactic battle of the egos and victory for one of them. "Advice" was the aftermath and epilogue to the story. There is an awesome live performance of "Criminal" where he adds a lot more subtle details to the choreo here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4HEoHulq7aEmrs "Criminal" has the equally unusual concept of Stockholm syndrome (something only Taemin would come up with). However, unlike the usual scenario, Taemin is both the "criminal" and the victim - encompassing the two egos within his mind: one in control holding the other captive; the other struggling to be set free, yet afraid of taking that step to freedom. It's a love/hate relationship. In the beginning, you see Taemin dressed like and outwardly acting like a "criminal", but his hands are bound, and it looks like he's being held captive in a hellish place (lava floor, dark, etc.). He is acting out both criminal and victim personalities at the same time. Taemin is trying to change his persona to become an even better performer/person. He started this journey of being an idol when he was only 14 (age at his debut w/SHINee). However, in order to become his "IDEA" of the perfect Taemin, he needs the present ego to "destroy me more" to be resurrected into the new and set free. (Like Christ who took on the sins of the world and died only to be resurrected and become new.) This death/rebirth is a common theme within his MVs. There is a lot of imagery, symbolism and metaphors in the MV that reveal this concept, such as the first shot of him suffocating with the plastic bag over his head and crows flapping around him - suffocating in his present ego and death represented by crows. However, in the second scene with the bag over his head there are butterflies circling around him - signifies metamorphosis and resurrection. The statue of him in the posture of Christ within a rock - while he's contained in that rock, he's still displaying signs of death and resurrection. (You will often see Taemin do his signature "T"-pose -- the sign of the Cross -- and actually make the sign of the cross in his choreo.) Now it would be great if you could react to his MV "IDEA". This will round out the story for you which depicts the climatic battle between the two egos. Another perfect example of the duality of Taemin's MVs, is his MV for "Want" in which the lyrics could be taken at face value, but in actuality it's almost a perfect retelling of Genesis 3 of the Bible with a sprinkling of the salvation message at the end. However, many secularist and Christians) will miss the depth and richness of Taemin's unique way of telling the story of Adam and Eve's fall from grace and thus the fall of humanity which necessitated a savior. Because there are usually so many visual messages and a plethora of symbolism in Taemin's MVs, many opt to react to his lyric videos first, then go directly to the MV. It's such an adventure to pour over both to glean each and every nugget of meaning to the stories he tells us. In addition, many of these stories are personal to him in some way. This allows us to gain a deeper understanding of him which is not common with other artists -- especially Western artists. Again, to even gain a modicum of understanding of Taemin's musical genius, I recommend you watch the mini-doc, "The Artist: Taemin": kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2PCfol4rdKXr8U . In addition, Taemin does just about every genre, even creating his own genre, TPop. This is something he comes to naturally, as SHINee are known as the first really experimental group who mix genres, create new music, introduce new genres to Kpop like Deep House and Dubstep, and have always created trends rather than following them. Taemin's SHINee hyungs (brothers) raised him and he's an interesting, eclectic amalgamation of all of them combined with his own special twist to spice it all up. He's a meticulous, detail-oriented individual who has his fingers in every aspect of his work, from rewriting lyrics, rearranging the music, costumes, make-up, to set design, production, choreo, etc.... He is even involved with SuperM's production as well. A fact for which the other members are very thankful for. Taemin just celebrated his 28th birthday on 7/18. In honor of this, SM Entertainment released the performance VCR for "Just Me and You" (an NGDA B-side) which was shown at his NGDA virtual concert. It's absolutely beautiful and ethereal. In fact, his B-sides are GOLD and very different from each other. Some of my favorites are "Sayonara Hitori" (MV), "Flame of Love" (MV), "Under My Skin" (MV), "Want" (MV), "Mystery Lover" (LV), "Identity" (LV), "Impressionable" (LV - Naughty), "Strings" (LV - Naughty), "Heaven" (LV & Live Performances), "Clockwork" (LV), "Strangers" (LV).......and so many more. Taemin is the most unique complete unorthodox artist I've come across in a very long time. I recommend Want and then Idea next. One of my favorite that many may not know of is the concept video from his 1st album Press It.
