Lots of great tools for making the map, node based custom particle systems, dynamic script reloading in-game, way better 3D support, WAY better scripting language than previous Paradox games which makes a lot of stuff possible only in Imperator, powerful UI scripting and UI editor, and lastly the fact the game devs themselves frequent the discord to help modders out and add features we ask for through patches. Once most the vanilla stuff has been replaced in the mod, why does it matter what the original game is? Its easily the beat choice for a total conversion like this. Getting just to this point in CK2 or EU4 would have taken 10 times longer

@Gray Matter Everyone has different goals. Some people like myself just enjoy tinkering with games and seeing how far you can push the engine. Others just want to make the game how they would have made it. Some do it for fame, others for money (the ones constantly pointing to their patreon and donation links). Its also a good way to get into the games industry. A lot of the devs at Paradox started off as modders for previous games but got hired. Heck a lot of devs in any company will say they started with modding

You picked Gondor at the start of the Kinstrife. Smart. You will get a civil war every time. It is supposed to happen. Though it looks like they didn't fix the death variables just right yet. Try Arthedain or Cardolan next. Those don't have civil wars but get to deal with Angmar. Also unification of the three kingdoms.

5:06 "It's that Rohan?" No, thats Rhovanion people that were reason to Kin-strife (downfall of Gondor) and almost get wiped by plague. Rhovanion is Sindarin meaning "wilderland" while Rohirrim means "People of the Horse-lords". But in this age Rohan is actually Éothéod ("horse-land") located north of Lorien. Yes, I take my LotR knowledge very seriously thnaky very much sir!

This is correct, but Eotheod is, technically, also the southwesternmost part of Rhovanion, so he's not wrong geographically. Rhovannion shouldn't really be a faction, because its a geographic area that contains... more or less everything between the Misty Mountains and Rhun east-west, and the Blue Mountains and Ered Lithui (the mountain range along the north of Mordor) north-south. The southwest border is along the Anduin, the Emyn Muil (these are the hills containing the Falls of Rauros, the waterfall Boromir's body is sent over) and Dagorlad. Eotheod, being to the northeast of that line, is in Rhovanion.

So in the books the Eothed were the guys whos settled in Rohan, they saved the Gondorians from defeat in a battle and the king was so impressed he gifted all of northern Gondor to the Eothed becoming Rohan. However, in this game they just invaded you.
