I saw Beth about a year ago, and she is one of the most dynamic performers I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. Her magnetic personality matched with her overwhelming stage presence kept me enthralled throughout her entire three hour show. Long reign the current day Queen Of The Blues. ♥️Beth♥️ ✌🏼😎🇺🇸

I subscribed because this is your first time seeing and hearing Beth. I wish i had a video of the first time i saw her. Your life has now changed even if you have not realized it yet. I have always loved blues and blues based rock. Have been jaded with new music and then a friend sent me her "Am I the One" live video from Paradiso in Holland about 2 years ago. I was blown away, and the more i dive into her music, the more i love her. This vid is pure Beth, open, honest, thankful, every note heartfelt. Doesn't hurt that she is one of the most talented musicians I have ever heard. Welcome to the world of Beth, get ready for goosebumps, watery eyes and just a rush of immotions. She has a HUGE catalog but one many miss is "Skin" acoustic, older and she is very skinny and having issues but it was written for her sister who died of aids due to a heroine addiction. This poor woman has been through it all and it all comes out in her performances. Buckle up and enjoy.

Thank for this video!!!Every time I see this video again I cry. Beth is a continuum of emotions telling about her life and the times of substance abuse and the cuts she was doing and then the desire to get out and the 'help of a manager and her husband. So many emotions, Other must-hear pieces::Am I the one ( live at Paradiso) Mama this one's for you and the beautiful I'd rather go blind (in Amsterdam) are really crazy for the strength the first, the tenderness the second and the anger despair and sweetness of the last, are a panorama of her ability to immerse herself in the characters, and make them live to everyone who sees and listens to her.love you from Rome. Beth Hart's most recent album, released in 2022, is A Tribute to Led Zeppelin, a collection of covers of Led Zeppelin songs. Hart is known for her "visceral", "gritty", "soaring" and "dynamic" contralto vocals.[2][18] Hart also plays piano, guitar, cello, bass guitar and percussion. Wikipedia. She has done a cover of Wild Horses, a Rolling Stones song.

"I'd Rather Go Blind" is a blues song written by Ellington Jordan[2] with co-writing credits to Billy Foster and Etta James. It was first recorded by Etta James in 1967, released the same year,[3] and has subsequently become regarded as a blues and soul classic. Beth covered it on Don't Explain a 2011 cover album recorded by her and blues rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa. It has also been recorded by a wide variety of artists, including the blind-from-birth Clarence Carter, on his 1969 album The Dynamic Clarence Carter.[19] Other recordings include those by Little Milton, Chicken Shack, Koko Taylor, Man Man, Rod Stewart,[20] B.B. King, Elkie Brooks, Paul Weller, Trixie Whitley, Ruby Turner,[12] Marcia Ball, Barbara Lynn, and Beyoncé for the Cadillac Records film soundtrack.[21] Wikipedia.

BETH BACKSTORY: Beth has been through the meat grinder but is a very humble and thankful person. She has a bad-ass persona to protect herself from a difficult life of stuggling with mental illness and addiction. Although she’ll be the first to tell you many others have had it much rougher than her, here are just a few of the many personal and professional challenges she has endured and overcome: • Parents divorce when Beth is about 6 years old. • In psychological therapy starting at age 7. • Experiences a violent home invasion and robbery. • Father gambles the house away; abandons the family; and is later imprisoned for tax evasion. (The song “Try a Little Hard” off her latest album is about her dad and gambling). • Beth is an alcoholic by age 11. • At 12 years old, she’s in a “relationship” with a 40 year-old man (The 2019 song “Woman Down” about this). • At 14 she runs away to Brooklyn, NY to live with a violent, criminal, 24 year-old man who physically abuses her; gets her much deeper into hard core drug use; and pregnant) • Arrested & briefly jailed for DUI. • At 16, back in LA, she’s asked to leave a prestigious music school because of poor attendance (caused by her staying out all night long to sing in club competitions in South Central LA). • An early Manager undermines Beth’s business interests (age 18-22) and Beth can’t get a contract. • At 21, she wins 13 straight competitions on Star Search to win top female vocalist (1993) and $100K, but is broke and busking on the streets of Santa Monica by summer 1994. • When Beth is 22, an older sister dies of AIDS at age 32. (The songs “Skin” and “Sister Heroine” are about her middle sister Sharon). • In a string of abusive personal relationships. (She’s written many songs about this theme, but “Caught Out in the Rain” and “Fire on the Floor” are two superb examples). • Beth is officially diagnosed with Bi-polar I mental disorder around age 27. • As her musical career begins to explode w/the 1999 hit “LA Song,” Beth weighs just 92 lbs. & nearly dies due to drugs, alcohol, and anorexia. Atlantic drops her from the label by early 2000. • In a series of stays at drug and alcohol rehab centers and psyche wards. (Her song “Isolation” is about being in a psyche ward; “Spiders in My Bed” is about living with bipolar mania). • There’s also been lots of cutting and suicide attempts along the way (but details are thin for this). This brings us to age 30 where, exiled in Europe, Beth perseveres and gains control, produces the ‘Leave The Light On’ album in 2003 (age 31) and, by the May 2004 Paradiso concert in Amsterdam, she has been sober, healthy, and mentally stable for 16 months.

She's been doing pretty well for the past 20 years but she is currently struggling with bipolar medication changes & adjustment--so much so that she had to cancel her US Tour in September. She then started back up again November 4th in Germany (with a concert livestreamed on Rockpalast--here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4eZZGpsppZjicU ) but had to cancel the rest of the German tour after that. Hopefully, a little more rest and she'll be good for Australia in Feb 2024.

Am I the One - Live at Paradiso (Holland) 2004 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nouqZICdndCLabMsi=eOzFIz9dZ1AM1ZYE This is from the comeback (trying again) that she refers to in Leave the Light On. She was sober and very happy to be performing again. You will be pulled in to her World again with this one! I've seen her live 3 times, all 3 in the first five rows of the venue. She is one of the most raw performers that I've ever seen! Emotional, honest, extrordinarily talented, and just plain REAL!!!! If you have time to kill, watch the entire Paradiso concert! Wait til the astronomical talent kicks in...While you're losing it I'm just laughing because Beth is a true artistic and emotional killer. Your comments were excellent, insightful and accurate. That's right, that's Beth-completely raw, unfiltered, honest, and authentic. She lays it all out every note, every song, every concert. Yes, she's absolutely mesmerizing. Beth is a unique performer, but you’ve stepped into a huge rabbit hole.
