I still don't get why they never had actual tail articulation. It reminds me of the random doll lines that popped up and left in a blink during the height of monster high.

I fell in love with these dolls because of their faces. Jordie was my first doll because she is so gorgeous to me. I love the details and the accessories. I think the slumber party line is a bit underwhelming due to the lack of clothing and accessories but they still have the same beautiful faces. I do think winter waves is stunning though. The snow globe feature is so cute and the beautiful extras. I love mermaidz. The faces are gorgeous, the hair is beautiful and I don’t mind about the tails because most of them can use the fin as a stand. I don’t really care that lots of people don’t like them. I know some people have taken the heads of these dolls and put them onto legged bodies. I also read somewhere that the tails can be swapped out. I know that the wave one Morra has an intentional tail swap set with loads of accessories so when she went down to $21, I bought her and I’m waiting for her to arrive from Amazon. I think buying these dolls on sale and then doing customs on them, makes them worth the money. I boight a $16 Rivera and did a repaint on the tail that arrived chipped. I also cut the stupidly long hair which I thought ruined the doll. The hair now reaches just above the knee instead of moulting everywhere and going past the tail and she looks super cute now. I think they are worth it if you can get them in the sale. Overall these dolls are beautiful. I love collecting them and they are currently selling for a really low price in April 2024.

I only have Jordie and I love her. Her face is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, she fell and her fin has a small chip. Not too bad but it was a bit upsetting. At least, the tail did not break. The crappy design of her tail is a shame. Too hollow and does not support the weight of her long braids. I can see the Novi Stars comparison. They are not designed for play but as display dolls and the winter waves have the same style of "liquid" gimmick. I am not keen on these. They can eventually leak. I would love to add Shellnell to my collection and the purple gothic one of the winter line if I can. I think I will miss the UK sales so it might be difficult but I'll try. They are very interesting dolls. The packaging of the first wave made them look crappy. All we could see was the bad quality tail. The top of the doll is collector quality and the tail is low playline quality. It is a shame. With a "proper" tail, these dolls would have been amazing.

I have them all! I've been a fan of them since their images were first leaked! I've seen every episode of the animated series, and thought it had potential! I have to admit that the dolls were pretty expensive, and had obvious flaws in the tail designs. But that didn't stop me from getting them AT ALL! I'm in love with their faces, and long gorgeous hair! I've rebodied them on various bodies (mainly Barbie MTM and Integrity Toys) and am absolutely obsessed with dressing them up! They're currently my most spoiled dolls right now! I just got the salon playset a couple days ago, and I can't wait to open it and play around with it! Mermaze Mermaidz will always be special to me, and it's truly a shame that they've been cancelled!

@@plastic_heartzz They have a somewhat blank look or as if they are very depressed or stoned. No joy whatsoever in them. The dolls have a few nice elements but overall they are a big miss to me.

I still like them a lot but they are just too expensive to me, my stores never have them on sale ;even the first lineup dolls!😢 so I’d have to buy them online to get sale prices which I don’t think about. As for the show I was really enjoying it and looking forward to seeing what season 2 would have comprised of. I still hope that there will be another season. This doll line has so much potential!

I just got into mermaze! I found kishiko at Burlington for $10 and just fell in love. Now I’ve added Jordie and Shellnelle. I think they always look off putting in photos/videos. They’re 10x prettier in person. I think the price really killed them for the primary demographic. You could get a RH doll for a few dollars less with a whole 2nd outfit and legs.

I'm on the fence about them as I liked some of their faces, but not the tails and visa versa. If I found one who had an amazing tail, I didn't like the hair, etc. So it's hard to know what to do about them. I know there was a winter one I got really excited about and she had white hair in the box art, and I think a blue fin, but when I saw her in the store, her hair was actually yellow which was upsetting because I'm not a fan of yellow or really any primary color. Her box art was a bit deceiving and since she didn't actually have white hair, I didn't get her. If they do come back, I hope they do some better color schemes and tail styles.

As a mom, I'll tell you these dolls are NOT made to last if they are regularly played with by children - especially in water. I was shocked when I saw how long the dolls held up after being regularly played with during bath time. The show was really good and the dolls are aesthetically pleasing with lots of potential. But I dont think the target audience was originally intended for children. Otherwise, I feel like they would have made them more durable. These dolls make a great collectors item though. Great to look at, not to play with for children.

I remember seeing them at the toy store too and also not paying any attention because I was like I’m not going to start collecting Mermaid 🧜‍♀️ dolls🙄 but their faces are Gorgeous-I saw a video (my Froggy stuff) did where she re bodied them onto made to move dolls ☝️I would be interested in doing that 🧐but is that wrong 🤔🤷‍♀️🙄🤣

If only the tails were articulated and they dropped the color changing and glitter lava lamp tail idea I would absolutely buy them. I don’t want any more gimmick mermaid dolls, I want mermaid dolls that have just as much articulation and love put into their mermaid aspects as any other doll. While Monster high mermaid dolls didn’t have tail articulation, the designs and aspects were done so much better for a one off movie tie in sub series.

yeah mermaze mermaids just confused the hell out of me. like firstly they don't have anything that is what i like about mermaids- they don't really have any nautical fantasy elements in their designs and their tails are stiff and hard! their fashion also generally doesn't do it for me and on top of that their faces are not proportioned or spaced out right - their eyes are really wide open and their mouths just look too far away from the rest of their face. so as a long time mermaid fan they aren't appealing to me at all sadly :( i really wanted to like them or at least find one that i liked but i honestly couldn't care for any of them even if they were half the price 😭 like i respect that they wanted to do something different here but it just did not execute at all imo.

I think the mermaid dolls from mga weren't made to last long and mga wanted to have the dolls in the stores so that they were on shelves before the winter season cause they knew that Rainbow,shadow high and also lol omgwere more popular. I don't like the tails being out of box either which is why I never got the dolls because of it. Then then price of the dolls as well too.

OK I don’t like the fact that they were retail for $32 they had no damn stand and the bitches cannot sit how are you gonna make a fish and they can’t sit crazy second of all, they deserve that what MGA did mermaid high they deserved it. The mermaze mermaze dolls are still in my stores I don't know if it's thr original frust wave or the later winter ones but I'd check the prices of the dolls cause their still on my shelf at Walmart. Nobody is picking them up at all.

They are very very beautiful. Would love to have some but they are a bit expensive and I have other dolls that are more important for me to buy
