This is me. I am here. I have bought way too much makeup in the last 5 months or so. And welp I have a ton of shit now. Beautiful shit. But I need to organize for sure

I'd like to add one step : take your new makeup out of its packaging ! That's a big one for me personally, I bought makeup in August that I was keeping pristinely wrapped in its packaging and thus, have only used once or worse, not at all 🙈 This video came at the right moment : I reorganised my makeup space yesterday and I feel excited to use makeup again 😁 I pulled 7 palettes out of their packaging and put one front and centre to use during this week.

This is great! I honestly never thought of it cause my makeup comes out of its packaging as soon as I get it home. haha. So good call!

Yep. I’m one of those dorks with a Google spreadsheet! I find it so useful when I’m out and about and need to reference something like which eyeliner or blush colors I already own. But the most useful is referencing it when buying eyeshadow singles. I have an entire tab dedicated to them listed by brand, type (powder, liquid, etc), and shade name. I often buy in bulk- like 15 or more Sydney Grace or CP at a time- so I can get confused about the shades I already own. I suppose that means I have entirely too much makeup...

No! It means you're organized and your collection isn't going to overwhelm you. We spreadsheet nerds gotta stick together. 🥰

I have my 13 new Looxi shades in a separate palette 😁 I started off using them together, but now I've been using them along with older singles, which has been nice, because I can see how similar shades actually work when in use, rather than just in a swatch I also like making lists of my newer eyeshadows, it helps keep them in my mind and if I'm trying to list them from memory the ones at the end at the list are probably in need of a bit more love!

Love this! Lists are everything. haha

These are really great tips! I feel very easily overwhelmed by my collection, especially since I rarely buy things not on sale (and all gifts I get are makeup too), which in practice means I get all my new makeup at once! I currently have a vanity, and a rotation that I keep in the bathroom, but still struggle creating a system for singles. I will take your notes tip and start doing it! Thank you so much for sharing your brain

Yay! You're welcome. I need to organize a few drawers so hopefully there will be more organization tips coming soon!

Sometimes I get a big lot of makeup at once when I want to get free shipping. Still have a few palettes I haven’t had a chance to use from a BH order I did from July. 😱

Haha. Set them out! Gotta see them so you can use them. 😊

I have a question. When you depot your eyeshadows, how do you get the cardboard & glue off the bottom of the pan without damaging the shadow? I’ve tried using a flat iron but I keep burning my fingers lol
@FacesByGina4 жыл бұрын
Oh no! I'm super late replying to this, but hopefully it'll be helpful to someone. I try to peel the cardboard and glue off without heat as much and as often as I can. However, when I do need heat, what I do is I set my curling rod to its highest setting and then set the pan underneath it so that it's not touching, but it's getting the heat off of it. When I feel the pan getting warm, not hot, I try peeling the glue back again. It takes some practice and patience to get the right feel for it. If all else fails, grab some gloves!

I bought a roll cart and put all my makeup, ( bought from Michael's it's called the Hudson cart)some of my hair stuff on this cart. I have enough stuff to fit everything on this cart. I dont need anything else. Its dumb to have to declutter this expensive ass makeup.

I hear you! I think that if that works and makes sense for you, go for it. People are going to have different approaches depending on what their needs are. For people who review makeup for a living or a hobby, they're going to have a lot of stuff build up over time that they will need to get rid of occasionally. For myself, I know that I would rather get rid of something than keep something I don't like just because I paid a lot for it. I enjoy the experience of trying makeup and experimenting, and the end result of that is that sometimes it doesn't work out for me. So I've gotten all the love I can out of it, and someone else may like it more. For example, I just got the Natasha Denona Mini Gold w/ a gift card, and I hate it. I'm not gonna keep it and I'll give it to someone else. One thing I've learned in the past few years is that everyone has a different reason for being in makeup and a different experience with it. To each their own! That Hudson cart looks perfect for a tightly curated collection. I hope it works out for you!
