I've owned a lot of interesting cars in my 50 plus years of driving and my 2018 BRZ is easily the most fun car I have ever owned. It is a dream on any windy mountain or country road. Really excited to see what the next gen 2021 BRZ is going to become with the new 2.4 L engine. I hope they keep the body similar because the smooth classic lines are a work of art.

Just got mine back from a pre summer check up. She's running healthy, especially at 85,000 miles (136,000 kms) and being daily driven, plus road trips. Including winter driving in the harsh Canadian climate (good example was in -35° C for two weeks.) It does get tiring having to always say "FRS/BRZ/GT86 or just 86" all the time. Dang 26 grand new, but I guess I spent 19 grand on my used BRZ. I've only ever seen one automatic 86. I've let my best friends younger brother learn to drive stick in mine. He loved doing it.

No hate, but you definitely took a completely different approach to modding this car than I took with mine. I focused on power before anything. I went full bolt on/e85 within the first month of owning my FRS and supercharged it 3 months later. After that I went wheels, tires, coilovers, ect. Mine is still stock body wise though and I have no problem with traction on the wheel tire combo i'm able to fit, so yours definitely seems a little overkill for me haha.

Baby LFA dang this was kinda crazy for me to read. i'm bored of my fully built N/A G8 and am now looking into this car, glad i'm not the only one looking for this particular change! i drove a buddy of mine's E36 M3 and had far more fun behind the wheel of that than i've ever had in my 450whp G8. sounds like it won't be a mistake. it really is more fun to drive slow cars fast than to drive fast cars slow.
@lu77134 жыл бұрын
Finduh i had an evo before the fr-s , this car is slow but feels fast and feels different than the evo when i get in it . Fr-s feels more like a race car, seats hug you and its very low to ground . My evo felt like a normal regular car very fast too . Idk just The feel of the fr-s is very different just connects you more to the car and the road which makes it different than my evo and special very fun and dances on the turns . very fun car won’t disappoint ive had alot of minor accidents on my evo and about to be 6 years of owning the fr-s and no accidents nothing this car made me a better driver and i drive this car fast too . Cool because u know what the car wants to do next . My evo was very fast felt like nothing could beat me too lol but it was time for something different and this fr-s is the most fun i ever had . Never selling the fr-s or trade for anything too
@Finduh4 жыл бұрын
wow man it's so crazy how much of the same page we're on! I felt that exact same connection when i drove my buddy's E36, made me realize my G8 feels like a regular boring car that happens to haul ass in the straights lol. G8s are riddled with tons of minor problems as well so that's very good news to hear the FRS/BRZ/86 seems to not have many of those. I'm excited to test drive one! Straight line fast was only fun for so long..
@lu77134 жыл бұрын
Finduh yea my evo was fast and fun only in the straight. But man that car got me in so much trouble. The difference too is the fr-s /brz/86 are the same way you’ll get alot of joy driving this car and not get in alot of trouble. You test drive it bro trust me you won’t regret it . If u do end up getting one i guarantee you won’t wanna sell it too or trade too. Idk maybe one day ill throw in a turbo in the fr-s too just to to get more power out of the drifting and swinging lol

@@luis-ch6de Me personally I would. I'd say you're buying this car for handling. I have a really close friend who has driven one of these and said it's quick, however it is not very fast (Compared to a lot of cars. He owns a slightly modified 2016 Veloster Turbo, which is a whole second or two faster 0-60 stock I *think). This could be somewhat compensated by an exhaust and tune from the torque dip that these cars have. However, my friend said it's one of the funnest cars he's ever driven (He has also driven cars like the 350z). Supposedly the rear wants to kick out all the time in second gear with little to no effort, which is pretty gnarly. This car is going to be a lot of fun if you get it, which is why funnily enough I want one....

I know it was done to keep the cost down, but axels are weak, trans is weak, engine is nothing to write home about... like the chassis looks amazing and it handles great, but when it comes down to power, it´s hard to make them go faster... That´s why i´m deciding between gt86 and 350z. The z´s aren´t also easy to tune, but they have more power to keep you bussy.

I've had hate for the fr-s since it came out, I just thought it was too low and the chassis underrated like the Miata, the Z4, the Porsche, and the new supra. But the new supra's chassis is the most over rated by far(my opinion still). The fr-s has grown in me for a good while now, "just let it sinc in" as they might say, and it's really not fair for me to rate a car just by it's looks(dont judge a book by its cover). I guess I never saw myself getting that car and driving it around, I would really be picky about if it fits my personality, it's important to feel connected with your ride in many ways ; I would Think of it that way lol. But I have learned that people grow out of it, and learn to appreciate a car by the style it has been given and you can even modify it on top of that. I love the fr-s now and I won't have to talk bad about it anymore,I got tired of it, "If you cant beat'em join'em" lol silly me. The fr-s also has a better body than the 2020 supra, I would NOT get a supra. 😍😍😍😎😎😎😎 the brz front bumper is awesome! Nice ride bro.

Putting spikes on the inside of your car is not very smart, never know where your gonna end up in an accident. Also in my opinion it doesn't matter if its basically the same car, putting the wrong badges on it is pretty rice. If you wanted toyota badges then you shoulda got an 86 I respect that you built your car the way you wanted it to but I'm personally not a fan (not that it matters, it's your build after all lol) From the wrong badges, spike gearshift, the fartcan 5000 exhaust.... it's a pass for me though lol Butttttt like I said it's your build and I respect you for doing it your way :) nothing but love man
