Great video - might sound obvious, but worth mentioning about double triple-checking that any clarifier or kc shift knob is squared off at 12 o' clock dead; the amount of times I've forgotten to do this before aligning a radio is shocking haha!

Where did you get your 50 Ohm lead from or did you make it ? Remember the AGC when tuning the RX ,don't thro a huge signal in or the AGC will take over. Great Vid mate to get the up and coming radio techs interested.

good question re lead, I suspect it came from one of the workshops we bought out down in Mt Gambier, and yes, less is definitely better with Rx tuning, we ran a bit high and what Glenn is saying is so correct, you will see much better and more achievable gain with less signal, us old techs get complacent, that's for sure😆😆😆

I've found best to have the radio on TX when you do the 10.695/692 that eliminates the clarifier circuit. That should put it bang on for TX, it may leave the clarifier a smidge off 12 o;clock, but at least the TX will be bang on.

You can use a cro probe and put it on the by 10 x so it wont load down the rf circuit.
