You forgot a HUGE reason to get a squadron vehicle, squadron battles. In squadron battles you don't need a full lineup because it's useless, you can only spawn once ; some squadron vehicles are very well suited for squadron battles (ships of course are useless because you can't use them in squadron battles), the BMP 2M for instance.

The SKR-7 is also an amazing choice for events. Naval mission score is calculated by damage done instead of kills, and the SKR-7 has auto loaders. You are able to constantly set fires as well, making it a threat to destroyers if you aim for the top deck instead of trying to pen the side armor. Even helps the aiming learning curve if you have never played naval before because you can easily see how your adjustment affect where your shots land instead of waiting 10-20 seconds for the main caliber to reload

The SKR 7 is horrific, like the damage it causes is nasty, I use it to grind SL with boosters because of how good I do with it and it's relatively high SL rate

In my opinion Russian squadron vehicles are the best, because you have plenty options to build a whole lineup around them. I got the Su-22m3 a few weeks ago and looking forward to get the T-80UK and BMP-2M. Leopard 2pl is awsome too.

A tip for the bmp: the stock belt is shit never rely on it even if you are on the side of an MBT , the missles can overpressure stuff if you hit the roof

BMP-2M is worth it. I personally also like the British plane, legit a low tier corsair just with low .50 cal ammo and RP-3s instead of HVARs.

Be careful when researching jets, while they seem cool most people get more enjoyment out of the game flying props. Not only that but by flying props you gain experience and by the time you get to jets won't have as hard of a time with the learning curve.

This. Years ago when WT was still new, was still air-only, and Rank 5 was highest, I ground my way up to jets in several nations. Flew those planes (stuff like P-80, the first Meteor, etc) enough to spade 'em, and haven't flown jets since. Have tons of jets research-unlocked these days and enough SL to buy at least a dozen or two, but just not interested.

It can give you tips but honestly it's gotten to the point that jet game play is far from props. Easier enemies to learn against if anything.

And Jets are not for everyone. I like them. But prop planes are quite fun too. So fun that I like to add them to my Arcade Jet line-up. They do have some slight advantages you can exploit. And always fun to down a pretty modern jet with an old WWII era prop plane. But be careful when you join the jet age. Dodging missiles is not for everyone.

I don’t view getting these vehicles as a time investment. I see it as a passive bonus. I select the vehicle I want next and then dont think about it until it says I unlocked it one day, then pick another.

Also there is something to do with the overall squadron activity, like if your squadron isnt very active you wont be able to get the 20k rp. For exemple I can only do 10k rp because my squadron isnt the most active, which sucks :(

I think that's what that "44(ish)" percent means when looking at the Activity window. My (possibly-erroneous) understanding is that the total activity across squadron has to be about that percentage of max possible for folks to get the 20K. So, for example, if there's 100 members in a squadron, then if every one maxed 360/360, that would be 36,000 activity points. A squadron thus has to reach roughly 44% of that (about 16000-ish) for individual folks to get the 20K. Which is then awarded to the members according to how much they contributed. I'm not 100% sure that's PRECISELY how it works, but if not, seems pretty close.

My 1st Squadron Vehicle was the Australian Abrams just because it was Australian/cool factor (Got it through playing only). All of this info will help with choosing the next one to go after.

First SV I unlocked was the leo2pl, if you have a good lineup for German top tire I highly recommend the 2pl, better thermals and turret armor

Tankenstein, i hope you grow to become a big KZbinr with over 5M subs. I'm currently a player in the 3.7 br in china and I joined a custom match and got bullied a bit by some top tier tanks, so i tried to research a good squadron tank, i chose the Leo 2 PL with help from your vids. i will be getting it withing 3 or 4 weeks, as i can only play 2.5 days a week and don't want to waste too much time until the custom match closes, so i will be buying it when it is under 1000 GE. watch out for the 262 a1 u1 I would consider it as a primarily ground pound vehicle. It has the best armament of all the 262's: 2x 20mm cannons 2x30mm mk108's (the short 30s), 2x30mm mk103's (the long 30mm). those long 30mm have high pen hvap rounds. in air rb this thing gets an airspawn as well. This all probably sounds great, but the problem is that this thing is super heavy, the tech tree 262 already has poor acceleration when compared to early jets, this is even worse, you will suffer in dogfights.

Best Ship in game hands down is the HMS Liverpool even after they raised its BR to 5.7 it has always been able to punch above its weight class.

👍. Squad points are broken still. If your in a random squad they don’t count towards it. It’s not surprising that squad vehicles don’t have a better reward. And the fact that u still have to grind once they finally have it.

Got all squad vehicles except of some naval stuff and the T-80UK as well as currently grinding Object 122 MT. I really liked the YAH-64 because it is essential a free Peten and because of match maker preference a few months ago 10.3 almost never saw uptiers. BMP-2M, Su-22M3 and T-80UK are very good too. I like to powergrind because I just like the modern stuff and USSR now gives you the possibility to play at top tier with a very well rounded lineup and you just need 1 or 2 premiums for it. If you grinded out the 3 USSR squad vehicles , while doing something different, then buy the Ka-50 and probably TURMS in the next sale and have 4000 GE for 4 well trained crews as well. A lineup of Ka-50, Su-22M3 (8 x 500er bombs and 2 R-60s are fantastic), T-80UK (even the regular variant is good because of its speed), BMP-2M and TURMS can give you 5 spawns even without boosters. I wish I could grinded it this why when I suffering through my grind to USSRs top (T-55 versus L/44 Leos was meta back then) but I instead used this method for grinding US and GER and next nation will be China.

I use squadron vehicles for access to heli trees or just for fun. I’m researching the Chinese missile MBT for that purpose. Probably one of the best squadron vehicles in my opinion, especially when you consider Chinese helicopters.

@@majo3488 not really just for heli PVE, I find that mode boring. Heli PVP was much better if you could find a city server and fly between the buildings. I mostly just collect helicopters because they are fun and cool, but I’ll grind the load outs so I can take them into custom battles or the occasional ground battle for fun.

My biggest problem with squadron vehicles is finding a squadron I am not the most active player (roughly 1-4h a week mostly spread over 2 days) so there is that. I just haven't bothered to look into the right squad to join, I know I am not getting in one that requires a lot of activity, but I also don't want to join one that is completely dead so it's a matter of finding a balance here.

One big tip is to start grinding a Squadron vehicle a few weeks before you get to the point of putting it into a balanced lineup. I started grinding the 4.0 Karl Marx when I was still at 2.7 German Coastal and it took a few months to get it. But I finally completed it when I was at 3.7 and ready to start using it.

lol, that was my thought on Liverpool. I started working on the Brits so that I would have other 5.7's by the time it unlocked. Worked almost TOO well...by the time the darn thing unlocks (still quite a way in the future), I'll be well past 5.7, and I'm not sure Liverpool will really add much with Belfast Southampton York Norfolk London already available.

I would recommend any new players who are thinking of buying a squadron vehicle the Me-262. First of all, unlike the Firecrest, which is an utter dissapointment, the Me-262 would provide a new player with their first jet. However, remember that jets are pretty different from props and the experiences gained playing props will mostly be invalid while playing jets. After that, the 262 is still a 1st gen jet, facing other 1st gen jets against mostly new jet players. Therefore, a squadron 262 player will find it pretty nice and worth their time and money. When it comes to other squadron vehicles, you can see a recurring issue, it either ruins the game (providing clueless newbies with a vehicle too high for their skill level) or requires a proper lineup to function.

You get the bonuses as long as you are using the premium vehicle, not for only having it in the lineup. With your example that premium would be up tired to the squadron vehicle's br as well. Lets say you have XM-1 and M1A1-AIM, then you would still need to use the XM-1 but in 10.7 to get any bonuses.

I think that goes for all premium planes, I got a kill on a harrier player in my a-10 because he tried to launch a missile at held a mile and then flew pass me so I could gun him down, than a different harrier not understanding that a head on vs a missile isn't going to go well for him

Please. If you are still playing low rank do not get a high rank vehicle. Playing high BR is completely different than low BR and you won't have any fun. I fell for this trap when my friend told me to grab the 2PL. I got rolled for a long time before I started to learn high tier play.

I did too. I got it simply because it was low-cost. It's not a terrible plane (for an attacker anyway), but has limited usefulness at Rank II, because most BP tasks and various other events/achievements/etc (like the recent Overpowered craft thing) require Rank III minimum. I just haven't flown it much beyond spading (which to be fair didn't take long at such a low BR).
