As far as commitments go most units don't care just show up to what you can, from the csm to the oc to the newest pte everyone has there own civilian life which should go first. Hardest thing about reserve training is getting time of for basic training. Your mod 1 and 2 takes 2 weeks mod 3 is 2 weeks and cic is 2 weeks.

It’s good people are trying to motivate people to join, tho as we can fit our army inside a stadium, something is clearly wrong, the pay... the fact you can make more at home from a restaurant/shop ect, with flexible hours.. is totally wrong, and only the people and the army can do something about it, or the army will stay a shadow of its formal self forever

I've applied for officer reserve role, how long should I work out before the assessment centre in order to maximise my chance of success
@Rangermedia8 ай бұрын
Right now, go crack phys today. We need to make physical training a routine that’s done in some shape or form daily. Clearly don’t run a marathon the day before your assessment centre but generally train as normal then put in a rest day before the centre. That rest day still looks like out for a walk or mobility/flexibility work. Just always have it in your mind, what have I done today to positively impact my body.

Is there any information about if you can join a regiment not in your county or if you can join if you live across the country?
@Rangermedia8 ай бұрын
You can join any unit regiment or role anywhere within the Army as long as you meet the perquisites. For example GCSEs for certain trades or a certain fitness level for Infantry roles. Location is not a restricted factor.

Hey Champ after serving if I give up my British nationality I am still required to serve as reservist
@Rangermedia8 ай бұрын
No one is required to serve as a reservist. People who sign off are given the option with the careers officer to sign up to the reserves during that leaving process so that the transition is smooth. It’s not a compulsory route.

@@ethanthefisherman4164 no but it would be difficult as most camps are smoke free now. There are smoking shelters outside your accommodation though. Not sure what the crack is with it in Basic training. Smoking has dramatically reduced over the years in the Army. Look at the Royal Marines fitness plan online. It's a 12 week plan that starts "easy" and get progressively harder, it's what I'm doing. Try to follow it as closely as possible.
@Rangermedia8 ай бұрын
So I’d say get active. Get a hobby that involves you being active. That way you’re getting fitter and enjoying something. Outside of that, get in the gym and out running. Go for functional training and not “bodybuilding stuff”. CrossFit , Hyrox, decafit are a few fitness areas to look at and potentially get involved in, that will get you Army fit at the same time.

I plan on appealing and am trying to get evidence to support my appeal but my doctor refuses to right me a note because I have asthma. I have done every test that is required to be pass to get a chance in the army and I passed them all according to the army pass scores. My rejection letter says for my appeal i need that letter off the doctor. Any advice would be much appreciated thank you?

In the US, Asthma is a disqualify condition. You can't deploy if you have that and wear a Gas Mask. So it automatically makes you disqualified.
