You never know what you’re capable of, until you’re really tested & pushed close to your limit. I did 11 years, & I’m so proud that I’m a part of that family. The ITC passed the 2006 17th time, it was the most memorable. I served 11 years as a child and left Germany. There was no support, and I couldn't find a home. Now, single soldiers come out to be placed in bedsit, imagine living in a 4/12 man's room, on tours and exercises for a years to return home to this! They don't care about its citizens or its former soldiers.

I am curous as to what is the primary motivator to join the RA, RN, RAF or RAMC. In the US, most of us joined because of the GI bill and the desire to go university debt free. To do something more with their lives, to see the world to be the best in the world if you are planning on joining the marines. @@snowyowl7413 If that is your motivation, its a good one! Assuming the UK military is much like the US, you have the chance to do things every day that is different and only happen in the military. No lie , some will be bad. Some will be amazing, but i guarantee, its not a 9 to 5. I was a USAF medic myself. My advice? listen to every vet you can. Some will tell you its awful. Some will tell you they had good experiences. Probably both are true, but the most important thing is to go in with eyes open.

I'm not a bully. My mates aren't. My SSM definitely isn't. My boss is absolutely decent. My OC is always in his men's corner as is my 2 IC. Yes...I've seen a couple of bullies. But I saw them in school. In Tesco. In Vertex call centre.... I am sorry of your experience or knowledge has been different - genuinely that sucks and it shouldn't happen. But overall I think now most men and women promoting do so on merit.

@BRH0587 very different. I was in the RA 74-85 Cold war Germany. All male regiment. I've seen a lot of bullying, sometimes going to court or good men just getting out. The bullies were often promoted, on the guns. A tough army life.

No, it shouldn't be before anything, defence of the nation should be before anything. Wtf has diversity and equality got to do with the military? And if by diversity you mean blocking white people from joining but letting any other person in then may I remind you that that is racist.
