Sorry for the assist section being mismatched but the ranking is correct. It’s just the assist itself was in the wrong place :( sorry sorry Uploaded the assist section separately kzbin.info/www/bejne/in3QomCopMR5mLs

The big difference between our generation and now's is that the way we learned to play Marvel and many classic fighting games was that we left school and with a few coins in our pockets we went to the arcade where you met up with your group to play and practice until you got tired. There was always a challenger. What good times!

Feels bad to leave a comment "complaining" in such a wonderful tutorial video, but a bunch of the clips in the assists list have the wrong clip edited in, such as Ryu throwing a Hadouken on the anti-air and Shoryuken on projectile. There's a bunch. The idea for the assist list with all the clips is wonderful tho, and I'd definitely check this video multiple times just to look for the right assists for a team. No shade on the editors btw, I can't even imagine the nightmare that must have been recording and editing all those clips. To much stuff to keep track of, especially with a tight deadline and putting up daily videos. Much love.

I was just about to comment on this. I do think that his ranking was probably correct, so if you ignore the graphic but just pay attention to the ranking of the assist, it's still good information. Just don't be worried when you think you pick the projectile, but it looks like the anti-air according to this video

Glad someone else noticed this. Almost every one of them is wrong--Literally the ultimate example character is even wrong. it would also be helpful if the 1, 2, and 3 positions didn't change with every character. This was an amazing introduction tutorial vid! Loved how clean and clear things such as the basic inputs at the start. The cheat sheet for assists followed by the disclaimer: team strat is priority. The 5 second of impact for each character (lol Roll & Dan) and some meta info. Would've preferred the character info segments be in alphabetical order for easier referencing. I think that's the only real adjustment that came to mind unless there was a reason for it. Would love to see a deeper dive into team composition/ winning conditions!

Yo! Had this game on Dreamcast, and even picked up the xbox port back in the day. People have complained about the control scheme, but I never thought it was a problem when you actually sit down and play the game. Capcom could have taken the KoF approach by not having medium attacks, but they still managed to keep them in with only 4 buttons. That's super clever!

No lie I have been waiting for this series for a long long long time and I hope you continue it Justin because they're people like me that are mid to in-between mid and low skill level , we lose to anyone who is better but have a chance with the same or lower skill levels. This series is something I've been waiting for because it can help me understand the game on levels that we couldn't understand before or at least for me. Thank you Justin I hope this becomes a series and I hope it becomes something absolutely special for those who are new and old to the scene. The end goal for me is , I just want to be able to be good at the game and be able to actually kick some ass and enjoy the game and not have people leave the lobby because we suck at the game. I also want to note Justin probably knows about 98% - 99% of this game and the percent that is left over is something that's on probability mid fight or hidden. Marvel 2 is a very complexed game to understand especially in advance/elite play. To this day I think Marvel 2 is the best in the whole series despite it's crazy infinite combo stuff. I hope with this series Justin teaches us so we can actually hold our own in battle. Sick of losing to these infinite combo dudes. Much love and respect to sensei Justin. 🙏 Once again thank you.

PSA: This is an ADVERTISEMENT. The "tutorial" part is secondary. I hope Justin makes a PROPER tutorial series that covers certain characters and teams in more detail.

I'm in New Zealand. I've been playing and sucking since midnight. It's 10am now. I suppose I should try to get good now. I just love this. I was the kid with no change at the arcade who would just watch. Now I'm the man with a job that let's me play switch on the clock.

One thing i don't remember being mentioned anywhere in the video is that even whiffed attacks build meter. For anyone who was curious as to why a lot of the examples of basic character strategy just involved spamming heavy attacks while airborne.

The assist rankings and quick gameplay snippet of every char were probably the most useful things I've seen in any fighting game guide!

I was really hoping that someone would put out some updated guides and tutorials for characters. I mean there’s a time out there, but most of them are not in English or are just really old. It’s nice to see some updated tech especially for people for coming for the first time.

Funny that Servbot has way more utility than Roll, despite dealing low normal damage. His rush supers are quite good!

Damn this is really useful info packed into an easy to consume/fast video. Great stuff Justin! I was wondering just yesterday what the best assists were for the characters I liked, it was going to take forever to look at and try all of them. That Roll clip was too sad though........

I didn’t even know that the Marvel/Capcom games were getting a re-release. I found out about it by accident. I had been busting out my PS3 these last few years. This video is a great tutorial. I already have my set characters/teams, but damn, I underestimated the power of other characters. Thank you, Justin!
