Like you mentioned, it takes 10 years of hard work to get a mine and mill up and running, the entry level is substantial, also considering that most 'miners' are older retired hobby placer miners. Another good point you brought up is that most all HR claims are not being worked, at all....locking up land and blocking actual miners from producing. I think there should be some kind of extra tax on those who hold mines without working them, like colorado has higher property tax on undeveloped land, to motivate people to stop holding it and build...claims should have a forfeit standing, that if not worked and producing are put back into the general claim offers or something like that

Yes I find this very interesting. I own property that is crisscrossed with quartz veining on the surface and am starting to collect assay samples. What lab would you recommend? I also have a placer claim and work that when there isn't any snow. LOL

@@Lord-Shadow that’s awesome to have some quartz veins on your property to prospect! I do my own assays, but I am looking for a lab to double check my results. I’ll post a video of some samples sent to different labs.

Interesting subject, and one that most people are completely ignorant of. I've seen a lot of hard rock miners, but none that are profitable. MtBaker jason is the outlier, and that is because he sold 50 tons of 1/4 opt head ore on ebay at 10 OPT prices

It is a long and slow process. Paperwork, environmental bonds, mining certifications - much more than just hammering rocks and processing ore.

@bigdsminingandmilling8421 - we have done some of the more difficult work. This year will be quite pivotal as we drop the tailings grade 18 feet, re-portal the mine, and begin mining in a few very productive areas. This is indeed gonna' be fun.

Here in Ca, there is the FS and burro of land management, and a host of other letter agencies none of which want anyone to mine any land here. permitting and red tape are the time and money wasters that price people out of mining in Ca.

For an easy access mine (low slope, rocked road access to the mine), how many ounces (or grams) per ton does it take to profitably mine a hard rock vein?
@bigdsminingandmilling8421Күн бұрын
@@KJ-qp3dx it depends on what kind of equipment you have. How many tons a day you can get out, and how many tons a day you can process. Then how much money do you need to make. You can figure out if it can be profitable for you by working backwards from how much money you need to make. There are a lot of variables that I can get into in future videos. Easy access definitely lowers your initial investment, and makes it easier to get more tons of ore out.

TVR I thought was going to be the ones to make it work, but after investing 2 years and 500k, they had no decent ore to mine. I've sampled and prospected over a dozen states for the past 15 years, and have never managed to find a HR mine with over 1 gram per ton of ore...those are claimed and unclaimed mines. I just don't think it's possible to make a living mining HR because I haven't been able to and no one I know has ever made a profit with HR. I'm open to possibilities, but the probabilities are depressing in reality.

I run a small mill in AZ. Doing ore analysis and pilot runs for small miners. I agree. They usually come with assay reports of opt., Not gpt. When, done, it's always milligram per ton. I agree with Derik, ten yrs. Or more. The cost to build a small mill is very high, and few places that cater to arsenal miners. Takes dedication and discipline,
