So the big shockers for some were 1) Mitch leading it in and singing high ( not something they were really allowed to showcase during their competition) 2) Avi's hip action was famous and was also not shown during their competition 3) Avi actually taking a solo instead of just the baseline So this was the best kind of comeback to prove they deserved it to the show lmao

They deserved that win indeed! So glad that they could express themselves a bit more as guests on the following season. Even more glad that now they are all confident and free to fully express themselves, their individualities and their talents. And we are the beneficiaries of their musical offerings - Collectively as PTX and also with their solo work.

This was their final big surprise for the Singoff - Avi singing melody. Nobody in that audience had heard him do anything other than a bass line. Avi always danced quite a bit in Pentatonix. It was a fan favorite.

Also getting to hear Mitch just be Mitch. The producers throttled him on their season because his voice was just too…whatever…for them. Idiots.

@@bridgethaines7127 he was gay. They didn't want that on the television program. Afraid the viewers would be turned off. Watch the last episode of the Singoff. Their chosen charity was the Trevor Foundation which is for that cause. Everything they said that could hint at that was censored leaving only Avi's comment about having a similar problem with being ostracized for being the only Jewish kid in his school.

Yes they did not like Mitch's sound because to them it sounded gay and they were worried about audience and advertiser prejudices. If you will recall Scott did not publically discuss his sexual orientation either.

I wish Sarah (Bareilles) was still judging so she could have been there for their return. She was a great supporter of theirs during their season. I remember that Avi moment, it was the best part of the whole show. PTX were puffing their chests at Sony's Epic Records with this performance and kudos to the show for giving them the stage on which to do it! Great reaction Thx Eddie 😎

Newfie...have you ever reacted to their 2012 (less than a year after their Sing Off win) the "Carol Of The Bells". If not, please do it for an amazing Mitch moment...when he starts to sing in the song, he goes without taking a breath which seems like a minute (definitely an alien !!). Also, the way they coordinated and harmonized a difficult song was, in itself ,amazing !!

Shawn Stockman (the guy that hugged them at the end) was one of the judges on their season. He is from Boys II Men. He is the original Pentaholic! You really should do the Sing Off series they were on. They were so young and very raw in the beginning but it was so fun to see them improve and get so good by the end.

When they were competing on the show the year before this, they were encouraged to have one person serving as lead singer and also discouraged from featuring Mitch's high range. Also, Mitch and Kirstie were not that confident at the beginning of the competition, so Scott ended up singing lead on almost everything until towards the end of the competition. So I love this performance because they seem to be showing the show's producers what they missed by highlighting Mitch and Avi here.

They had been touring non-stop since their sing off win and this song was part of their set list. You called it, their performance skills are on pointe. You can literally see the hard work they put in: vocal skills, their confidence and ease in front of a live audience!!!

Shawn Stockman, one of the judges, fell in love with them early in the season. He is the original Pentaholic. I love his "mah children have come home!" hugs he gives them at the end.

Hahaha so glad you replayed Avi's bass drop and his leg action haha...I was going to go back and rewatch it anyway lol The female judge could not take her eyes off Avi....aw I loved him so much in PTX...this one is special because he had a little solo...but holy cow he made us females all swoon. lol I have to say I absolutely love your 'Reactions' I sit here grinning like a fool with all your fast talking and cuteness. I love this performance and your reaction. They were the returning champs, Shawn Stockman was their biggest fan in their season. The dancing was a requirement on the Sing Off and its also interesting to note that when they were on the show in Season 3, Avi never sang once. He only did the bass and harmonies.

Avi is known for his moves. In regards to Mitch's fashion, please tread a wee bit carefully there, a lot has to do with his body/ weight insecurities, not having a go, just a heads up ( in other video's you've mentioned the long coats etc ) Thanks for reacting to this, loved it.

Thanks for this reaction Newfie. First time that I am seeing this performance. Loved your reaction. Pentatonix never disappoints. What fun. The only thing better than PTX singing is PTX singing and dancing. They have some understated/elegant choreographed sequences for their tour performances and some of the music videos. Look at "Joy to the World" from any of the fan videos posted from the 2020 Evergreen Tour and also the music video of "Cheerleader." Thanks to all your followers for the comments below.

All performances on the Sing Off are choreographed by the show staff. During their season you could tell PTX were not dancers. This is better than usual.

Such a great reaction! This was such a fun performance and a showcase of what they could do. This may be the choreography that they were doing to this song on their tour. But they had to do choreography for all their Sing-Off performances, which they developed themselves, along with their own arrangements. Here they were not only performing in front of the audience but the groups competing in Season Four so I'm sure they wanted to show them what they could do too. I too hope you will react to at least some, if not all, of their performances from Season Three of the Sing-Off. Especially Video Killed the Radio Star and Dog Days Are Over, two performances that they have credited for helping them win the competition. But all are worth watching.

This early in their career (2013, I believe), that's actually how Mitch dressed/looked... look at their early videos and you'll see the same thing. It wasn't until a few years later that Mitch really started to blossom out into the edgy fashion we've come to know and love.
