I've seen this a bunch of times but I just noticed at 9:02 in this video Mitch actually takes on Kirstie's side mouth. Also funny how small that couch actually is at the end. Their live of this on their return to the sing off as guests in season 4 was just as good. Especially since that was one show that knew how to balance the mics and sound perfectly for a cappella. That and ptx is always just as good live.

Fun reaction as always 😁 Love throwback PTX! This was shot in Kevin and Avi’s apartment with their couch at the time. There’s an interview of them from that era and they still had these picture frames on the wall.

Yes, A Cappella Academy held its first session in the Summer of 2014, shortly after PTX shot their video for "Can't Hold Us" on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University near LA, where ACA is held when they can do in-person classes. Here's a promo video that was shot back then, showing not only PTX members teaching students, but also Ben Bram (co-founder of ACA with Avi, and PTX's longtime producer/arranger) teaching a class on writing and arranging. For anyone interested to see what A Cappella Academy looks like from the inside, here's a video that was put together by one of the 2017 students that shows how ingrained music is throughout those 10 days. (She does get a little excited at times, to say the least, but it gives the real taste of the camp.) It shows some of the guest artists who are brought in to perform for the kids, exercise challenges like the crazy lip-sync challenge, and, at the end, the sunrise song led by Avi and his guitar. QoFy! Watching you react to this actually brought tears to my eyes. Oh, the journey we have had! Right? I know that Pentatonix still has a lot of amazing music to make, but there really was something magical with the original five. I think Matt is doing a fantastic job as part of the group. I have already seen him grow musically. But Avi brings something to music that you just don't find that often. Even his new stuff (he just released 3 songs - in case you didn't know) is meticulously and thoughtfully created. I personally just think that Avi is an inspired soul. He connects so well through music that it is hard not to like his music - even if you don't care for the genre.

I do hope you check out their performance of this as guest performers at The Sing Off in 2013 (the same year that Home Free won). My favorite parts of that performance are Shawn's reaction, and all of the judge's response to Avi's solo at the end.
