Soaking Stihl String Trimmer Line in Water: How much water will it absorb after 48 hours?

There is a good chance water is still caught all up inside that spool in ways of osmosis, to truly dry it out you'd have to unwind it all in one long string and let that sit outside for an hour or two in bright sunlight by which time it will likely look just like it did before. The white powder, by the way, helps keep the string from binding up inside the trimmer spool. I doubt that's because it's "dry," more like a baby powder that was added at the factory, many of mine come this way already.

@@8307c4 I am sure you’re right about truly drying it. As I said, it’s not a truly scientific experiment. As far as the powder is concerned, I definitely don’t remember the white powder appearance when it was new. Thanks for the info and thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe!

@@averagejoevideo9556husqvarna’s titanium force trimmer line seems to be really bad about getting that powdery residue on it. I feel like it needs to be soaked frequently.

Why are we caring if it holds water ? So it soaked does it make the string stronger

That scale measures weight, not mass. Quit calling it mass! I'm sure there's about 65 grams of water still trapped inside the spool. The white powder is added to reduce the string from sticking to itself...
