Soap Making - How to get better product pics
Time for another rambling session with me! Today, I'll be talking about how to remove the background of your product pics by yourself! It's easy! We will be using a site called Canva. It does cost money for the "pro" version but it's totally worth every penny if you own your own business!

I'm the sucker with the Adobe subscription. Bigger learning curve, and much more powerful, but doing simple tasks should be simple, and that background remover is legit.

Canva Pro is well worth the few bucks it cost! Even if you're not computer savy (like me), it's easy to use & there's lots of tutorials out there. I create all my product labels, social media posts, etc on Canva. That beard is looking epic Jon! :)

Wow, that's not a bad result at all. I figured you'd used a lightbox for that thumbnail.

Uncle Jon, Love your channel and have mad respect for your approach to life and business. You showed me how easy it is to make beautiful soap for my fam and friends. With that said and without animus, your photography needs improvement. As a professional photographer I can tell you that product shots are some of the most difficult jobs one can do, and good images make a world of difference. Procter and Gamble isn't wasting the millions they spend every year on professional photography. You can get 90% of what they get for a few hundred bucks, for probably 20 bars of soap. A (part-time) pro can do it for that price because once he/she sets up the lights, placement and background every shot will be essentially the same, but doing it right takes a pro. All the photoshop adjustments can be done one click for all of them, globally. Just my thoughts, you do it however it works for you. Keep up the great work, looking forward to your next video!

Not related to this, because I don't do stuff like this, but I was thinking of you and this video popped up. I accidentally made floating soap and I'm so tickled. It will probably always be my go to now 😍

Hi Jon, could you please guide me for using fresh puree. Whether final soap get rancid early or not with fresh puree. Is it cut shelf life of soap?
@unclejonssoap
@unclejonssoap 2 жыл бұрын
Yep. Most fresh puree will make the soap go rancid pretty quickly. Even some dry food, spices, and fruits will do this.
