Soap Making with the Pipe Divider Swirl Technique.
In this video I make cold process soap using the pipe divider swirl technique for the Soap challenge club September 2019. soapchallengeclub.com/
For the dividers I used spray can caps and lint roller caps that I cut out. I wanted a really slow moving recipe so I used a lot of soft oils. The soap batter behaved really well but I had to wait 4 days to cut it. The soap was still a little too soft to plane the tops after cutting, so I decided to cut them into thinner bars to make the colors shine through :-).
Colors:
White: Titanium dioxide
Light blue: Titanium dioxide, ultramarine blue and ultramarine violet
Darker blue: Ultramarine blue and ultramarine violet
Red: Red Iron oxide and black oxide

The swirls are just gorgeous, and I'm so glad you thought to cut the bars horizontally so you can see the pattern inside. Thank you! I bought it from etsy, but I removed a few wires so that I could cut soaps made in a slab mold😁

How do you prevent the initial soap pour from going under the pipes?

Karen Pilkington I dipped them in cocoa butter and let it harden in the mold before pouring.
