Soap Saver Pattern - Easy Fast Beginner Crochet Tutorial

Melody Adams from MelodyCrochet.com takes you #step-by-step through her #beginnercrochetpattern for a #soapsaver pattern, the “Sudsy Buddy” pattern! This pattern is fast, easy and takes hardly any yarn. And cotton! Fabulous for summertime when you do not want to be under a bunch of acrylic crocheted fabric. Soap savers are a classic for gifting or keeping for yourself!

You will get a soap saver that will measure about 2 ½ x 4 inches with a scrubby texture in the center for lathering up a plain or decorative soap! The hanging string is part of the fabric...no need to crochet a drawstring!

Materials Used:
Materials
1 Ball of worsted weight/size 4 yarn cotton yarn. (1 ball of Lily Sugar and Cream, Peaches and Cream or any other “dishcloth cotton”. It will only take about 50 yards so this is a great scrap project.)
I Hook/Size 5 US/ 5.5mm
Embroidery Scissors
Yarn Needle to weave in Ends
Tape Measurer

Having difficulty when u start the row for the mesh. Hard to tell where u are placing the hook. Also how many stitches are in each mesh row? Thanks .

I absolutely LOVE your video & the way you explain EVERYTHING but I'm left handed & having a hard time with this & yes I'm new to it by a few months but this shouldn't be hard I don't believe, it either starts to fan out or the hole starts getting smaller & smaller... ☹

Thanks for good idea. I saw it with button from kokosnut or with strings to close it, but I find this way the best. No tension in sack from strings (I make it with jute and it is so rough that it can cut other string in project), no button or so to break out...just practical.

I was told that I should use %100 cotton. Do you know why? I prefer working with acrylic.

Cotton is traditional but you could use acrylic. It would even dry faster.
