Soapbox Talks: Nedyalko Nedyalkov

Soapbox Talks is an interview series that forms part of musicians Lizabett Russo and Graeme Stephen's project Ensemble Eòrpa. The project has been produced with Deveron Projects from January - April 2021, and explores ways to remotely connect through music amidst the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic. Six musicians from across Europe - from Scotland to Romania, Bulgaria to Germany - have digitally collaborated on the production of a new album.
For the fourth Soapbox Talk, we hear Bulgarian kaval player Nedyalko Nedyalkov. Nedyalko shows us the many different ways the kaval can sound, how he sees the music scene during times of lockdowns and pandemic and how he has found working with Ensemble Eòrpa. Nedyalko joins our Project Intern Roosje de Graaff from his home in Bulgaria.
