Hi guys ! Congratulations on your new adventures. I was watching a couple (Jason and Nikki (Gone with the Wynns)) several years ago change their life from camping to sailing. They bought an old Leopard 42 and watch them become excellent sailors. They now have a brand new HH44. So welcome to the sailing community! Happy Sailing ⛵

@@SOLDOZER They have done some training and have shared time with sailing friends . They are young bright and hopefully tech savvy and familiar with a tool kit ... The boat is well suited to their needs and is relatively new...there's are a whole lot of cleaning and basic maintenance work to do. 🇬🇧🧙🏻♂️ I'm betting having seen a lot of young and older folks rebuild free or 1 € boats and floating or even part sunken boats they will do fine.👍🏼🤞🏻 As Captain Q would say it floats and it doesn't leak ...it gets bonus points. The boats not even that old .

I'm so stoked for you two! I think I saw this coming, but because you two have always been so thrifty, I thought you'd get some cheap old classic plastic and fix it up. But you dived into the deep end and bought an awesome cat. I've loved the Seawinds, so glad you went this direction. I've been a small boat sailor all my life and at just over 60 have an opportunity to live in the best cruising grounds in the US - the San Juan Islands. Looking forward to getting back on the water myself. We're all excited to see you in this next adventure.

You two are inspirational - I once bought a 1966 Pearson Vanguard and spent two years refitting it and spending far too much on a boat I knew nothing about - fast forward, I left my CA marina and spent two and a half years singlehanding UHURU around Mexico and parts of the Pacific - hands down the best experience I’ve ever had. Returned safely, sold the boat, moved to Mexico, spent 21 years there working, retired a little over a year ago, relocated to Michigan, just bought a brand new 2024 Ranger Tug 29CB and will now fulfill the next chapter of exploring the Great Lakes and enjoying life on the water again. I’m very excited for you both and wish you only the best - fair winds and following seas from the captain of CHECKMATE 👍🏼👊🏻 - I look forward to following you on your new endeavor 😊

If you are ever on a dingy with a water proof back pack again. Either take it off or wear it on your chest. If you fall off the boat with it on your back, you will end up face down in the water and find it harder to right your self.

Hi! I just ran across your channel today. And I would say 1) is go watch "Gone with the Wynns" . 2) This is most likely to be the Biggest thing that could happen for your channel. 3) Start from showing everything about the Boat, what cought your eye, why you Bought the boat, and what is it going to take to get her under way. And 4) where do you plan to go? Around the would or just up and down the cost. The " Wynns " went from a Land yacht to a cat to Now a brand New HH cat. And from about 100k subscribers to almost 500k subscribers. So this is a Big Life Changing Event! So I would show Everything about getting the Boat 🚢 "In Ship Shape " Pun intended! Take some Comments as help. And ya'll well be right as rain. In my Opinion. The Seawind cat's are one of the most Affordable ways to see the world. Is simple and easy to work on. And are Comfortable boats. Easy to Maintain. Now things I would do is 1) install a "water maker" .2) a washing machine 3) Solar and 4) Lithium batteries. Now I know you most likely have to put on New sails and Rigging and New sheets. And maybe a New Anchor and chain. And you need to check your Sell drives. And New Bottom paint( I Suggest copper coat) because it last about 10 to 15 years. And it is way Easier to clean and Maintain your hole. I know this is a lot. But just my opinion. I remember when I got my boat 🚢. There was a ton of info and it was like trying to drink from a Firehose. But with help you will get there. So thank you for your video 📹 and I am looking forward for the next one. So until next time ⏲️, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! Cheers 🍻 and Congratulations on your New Boat and the rest of your lives. May the Great Adventure began! P.s. Who knows, I may see your sails ⛵️ on the Horizon someday from our lanai! Aloha KptBill = (Captain Bill)
