I look at my fathers life as a reason to do things different. He didn’t know what he was doing to himself and the people around him, until it was too late. By then the damage was done. But he tried in the end. Regardless of the outcome and his passing, he tried. He was a victim in his own right. After walking a while in his shoes, I got to see that. It’s easier for me to look at him as a symbol, rather than all the bad that came from what he did. I get to be thankful for him, even though I’m creating this all from his absence and the bits and pieces I’ve learned about him and where he came from. But none of this takes away from how crappy it felt/feels. It only refocuses it. ALL the feelings behind everything that happened are 💯 valid.

Being from a family of drug abuse now for over 20 years the scene where Rue relapses made me so upset, I was bawling. When you watch your family struggle and never do better it made me upset Rue relapsed. A lot of people were like omg did she die and I’m like Rue is literally walking through her house and the streets thinking she is dancing and singing with a choir and at the end her high comes down which is why she dropped off and everything went black but man that scene was beautiful and depressing lol

Before going into season 2, I suggest considering seasons 1 and 2 as partially separate entities. It's a great season but because people go into it with certain expectations based on the first season, some are a little disappointed by it. It's still the same broad story but go into it with an open mind.

Not gunna lie the first several episodes of season 2 are extremely exploitative of Sydney and the amount of sex scenes with her it’s extremely uncomfortable and I almost stopped watching the show so just be prepared
