I see more pain than anger from lip, I think he really wanted someone to care about him even if it was just his teacher but when they pushed him away it hurt him enough that he wanted to destroy all the work he put in to get there.

Frank is such a complicated character because he is an absolute piece of shit and terrible father but we always see small glimpses in episodes of the real frank who loves and cares for his kids outside of the trauma and addiction. It's just so sad to see but I suppose the most tragic characters always make for the more interesting stories

100% agreed. It'd be too easy to just hate him, there's a lot to him we root for. He's always been the cockroach of the show, the wild card. His tragedy always fueled him forward in self destructive binges. There's a lot to it as a viewer we attach to, when those types of characters goes on screen.

I will never understand why people will get mad at Derek for not being there as if Debbie didn't technically rape him by not telling him she wasn't protected while they were doing it. Debbie knew she could get pregnant but Derek didn't.

True but also…. Derek did technically statuary rape her as well. He was 17 she was 13 or 14. 16+ is the age of consent🤷🏽‍♀️

yes, but I also do see it from the perspective of the fact that well, no method is 100% effective. if she had been on the pill, well that's 99% effective. what if it was that 1%? or if she didn't tell the lie and they used condoms, what if it broke? He would've had the same reaction. That's where the criticism stands from I think.

This girl he had sex with lying to him about being on the pill getting pregnant probably scared him or at least made him a bit wary of Debbie which is understandable. If she was actually on the pill and it was a mistake we don't know what his reaction would have been so how can you say he definitely would have left?

I got pregnant at 15 and I guess I got lucky because my high school did everything in their power to help me graduate. I ended up taking my last few classes through an alternative high school because I was kicked out of my house due to the pregnancy and I needed to get a job but I still got my degree through my original high school. went on to get my bachelors and am currently in graduate school. Teenage pregnancy isn't great but it doesn't have to be a life sentence to poverty like some people treat it to be. You just need some help and motivation.

My high-school literally had a daycare for teachers and students to use LOL it's lovely

@@nickb5371 I’m from a tiny town in Iowa, we only had 60 kids in my graduating class. That would have been convenient but it wouldn’t have made a lot of sense in my hometown. That said the school counselor did help me with the paperwork to get childcare assistance from the state so she went to a little at home daycare that was really wonderful and I didn’t have to pay for that. I did also work full time and had to arrange my own childcare for that time frame but thankfully school wasn’t a worry.

The sad thing is I think almost every mom has had their baby fall. Either from falling asleep like deb, the baby wiggling while being held, or from finding their way off furniture somehow. I remember when my baby couldn't even roll over yet I put her in the middle of my bed and went to make her a bottle and within 30 seconds she somehow fell off the bed and onto a pile of clean towels (thankfully) when she was just a few weeks old. Still confused how that happened to this day. But she has fallen many a times and falls all the time now that she's learning to walk. The first time your baby falls you feel like you deserve to die but at some point you realize it's not a huge deal most of the time and babies are little explorers and will get themselves into a whole heap of messes, a quick cuddle and they're back to being their crazy rolling, crawling, climbing selves haha
