I know this may sound a bit cliche, but I got to say it: depression gets better with time, trust me. I got sober at 30, and was a mess for a long time. I thought I would never be a normal human and would need meds for the rest of my life. I'm turning 37 next month and can say with confidence: I'm no longer depressed. Things did get better, and they will get better for you too.

This is super relieving ILAA thank you 🙏. That’s what a lot of people have told me, I need to give it way more time. I read somewhere that it can take up to a year+ before your brain even starts acting normal again. Reading comments like yours gives me a lot of hope. Much love 🙏🖤 god bless.

You've got this man you're a normal guy when you're sober and you're still young, confident enough to be on camera sober. I can barely talk to the cashier when I'm sober however I've never been hospitalized from alcohol, on the contrary I've been hospitalized from weed and psychedelics. I relapsed on alcohol again because I feel like I need it to be half normal, the biggest problem for me is the cost spending $10 a day on it. I can only go 2 days before I start tripping out again even on my medication. I'm 33 I'm really not sure where to go from here whether I should I just carry on drinking or not. Anyway keep up the videos man they're great I'll keep watching them even if I'm drinking. Hopefully one day I can stop to improve my life.

Thanks brother, that’s really awesome of you to say. I’m really sorry my friend that you’re struggling right now, I completely understand that feeling and how much it sucks. I wish you nothing but luck from this point forward!! Keep me updated, much love. 🙏

Hey Julian!! I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know to some degree what you're feeling as I used to drink in order to remove my anxiety. When I quit, it got so bad that I wanted to just be knocked unconscious. My anxiety manifests in all ways. From ocd intrusive thoughts (ex: did I turn off the stove, my house is def on fire right now) to social anxiety. Sometimes, it seemed like anxiety for no reason at all. I would just for no apparent reason have my heart in my throat...ALL DAY. While I still suffer from anxiety, I can promise you that it does get SO much better. Especially if you address the root cause(s). Much love and many prayers from NY! Wishing you only the best. ❤

What's up Slayer. I quit hanging around other alcoholics (except for A.A. members). I don't like drunk people's behavior. When I finally jumped from normal drinking to alcoholism, it was a fairly slow process. I miss those days. I do not like where my drinking has led, detox, a treatment center, jailed for DWI only once overnight. That was enough. Loss of the privilege to drive was the worst. I would have sent a question in but I forgot. My bad. Another great video. Stay strong and stay sober.

Hey Slayer!! Great video!! Thank you 😊 it's crazy how similar many of our experiences are. Your friendship progression and timeline was very similar to mine. My friend group, though, stuck around and still partied (parties) on occasion. I just don't go to those lol they always do a kayaking trip in maine for a few days to a week that I used to join when I could plan for it, but it's just constant drinking, so i won't go. And I spoke to them about that. My friends and family reacted the same way to my drinking as yours did. My friend said once that it all creeped up out of nowhere. They thought nothing of it at first. Like, I was just having fun until it clearly turned into something else, and seemingly overnight. And I reacted exactly the same way. In fact, I pushed everyone away when I was in the throws and only came out when I wanted to socialize and could stand being sober for a day or 2 (or a few hours). I no longer let anyone see the level I was at, they all got a mask because I didn't want to change. I'm sure they knew, bc I went from having people over daily, to every once in a while climbing out from under my rock. And the sober hobby question? I appreciate your answer! That's the one place where we differ. I eventually got back into my old hobbies, but when I was getting sober, i went to novel hobbies first. Mainly bc my biggest hobbies were biking and art and i was tapped out of both physical and mental energy. So my first sober hobby was video games haha then everything else started trickling in. They were just comforting, mindless and simply entertaining. I actually still game. It's officially added to my list of hobbies. Haha but it's peppered in now with all the others where for a few months it was #1 😊 anyways, this comment is an essay, so I'm gonna put my phone down. Have a great day, friend!! Much love to you and this whole community ❤❤😊😊

Awesome. Yeah I’ve pulled the “you’re young” card on myself many times. Entering 30 next year - that lie doesn’t hold as much weight as it used to! Looking great man, looks like that dreaded water retention has completely dissipated. Day 17 today for me, so I’m pretty close to you … felt that alcohol release shine for the first time again, literally today during my workout (May 21st). Been in prayer also, straight to the vine! May God protect & shield the sobriety of everyone in this community & platform God has gifted you, in Jesus Name!! You’re doing amazing Brother. - Proverbs 4:25-27 “Let thine eyes look right on, And let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, And let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: Remove thy foot from evil.” Isaiah 57:15 “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” -

Hey Slayer, just catching up with this vid. All great questions and I appreciate your honesty. I understand what you mean about really asking the hard question, do you want to get sober? Dig deep and you will find the answer. I appreciate your advice. I find it strange that anyone would question whether you’re an alcoholic just because you’re younger. I don’t get that at all, addiction of any kind does not have an age limit. The fact you caught it earlier than some is a win. The end result is the same regardless of where you are in life…and it’s not a good ending. Anyways hope you had a great day my friend. Always happy to see and hear from you. Take it easy…until next time. ✌️ 💜
@Slayer-73734 ай бұрын
Hey micru!!! Thank you as always! Absolutely you do as well, you have to do some real deep thinking about your life and where you want it to be. Also I know I’ve always found it wild when people say that, I’ve been through so much that some people who have drank for 30+ years haven’t. It affects the addict all the same no matter what the age is. I just had a 16 year old comment on my video the other day saying he could not stop drinking. This is why things like this need more awareness. Much love micru as always! 🙏

My husband over drinks and can be verbally abusive. I have stopped drinking to help him. He has slowed down. I do buy him beer when he asks me to. Yea Ii got sober right at the start of covid. Something clicked with the pandemic coming and i was almost dead from booze thats not a joke but i decoded i wanted to live again so i got to detox then a 1 year in patient treatment center. So im great now by grace and gratitude but to this videos point i had to totally reshape my lifestyle. I mean it is so radically different its unbelievable. Ive seen maybe 5 people from my drinking days in the past 3 years and only for a few minutes to say hi and catch up quickly. Even my family i had to basically let go. Had to happen. So im getting more comfortable as im sober longer and ill be spreading back out socially but only in non drinking environments. Its definitely baby steps man. One sip of one drink im dead i promise so i take this as life and death.
