These are always interesting. Reviewers have a distorted view of reality. Their objectives are different from the rest of us. Their job is to move from piece to piece while our objective is to find something we like and want to stay on. They have access to most everything, so their fun is to continually try different flavors and for the rest of us, we want to find the flavors we like and focus on them. A reviewer's journey is to taste and move on so a lot more can be good to them, than to us looking for that one flavor we like and want to stay with.

I try to get others to try different flavors because sticking with one is so limiting. Get a clean SS and a Tube to contrast. etc

I disagree with not putting up a negative review. Since the vast majority of us do not have a place to sample a piece of gear before buying (which is sad) and then realizing it's garbage. Hate to say it, but reviewers like all of you are the only way to help sort out the good, the bad, and the inbetween these days. Plus this may help the manufacturer understand what's wrong with what they made to fix it/improve it, or start from scratch.

I think that what this man in the panel (Headphone Guru at 34:00 - 39:45, right?) meant is that in his opinion it's much more worthwhile spending your own time trying to find what's good, accurate (he explains that to him fidelity, accuracy, faithful reproduction of the recording is paramount) rather than the things that are bad... so he would ignore the gear that he considers bad and not spend any more time on it, rather than start a discussion on why it should considered bad: not give that gear any spotlight. Time isn't unlimited, so if he thinks that is the way to go, we should respect that and whenever consulting his reviews or pages (he hosts a website i think?) take that into consideration: whenever something in his website is mentioned, it's at least worth talking about in his opinion and experience. He's the kind of audio gear reviewer that doesn't try to meet expectations but rather share the findings of his own discovery journey. That in itself is useful, and imho we should be thankful that not all reviewers have an identical modus operandi in reviewing, that'd make their role less trustworthy and dependable on as a whole.

@@terryss95 I get it, if they don't review it we don't see anything about we won't be bothered to buy it. But maybe a brief review of say a bunch of gear all together that some might be hyping up and just say they aren't worth you time and list them so we have more info and we don't waste our money.

I agree with stating when things are bad, but at the same time I don't want to spend 50% of my channels time explaining what's bad. I rather talk about stuff that I like. Maybe just a big summary of shit at the end of the month
