This looks so fun! It's strange how there isn't a climax after the croc, though. Usually there's a drop or a thrill of such after encountering something like that in a Disney ride. The croc monster was still pretty cool though.

It's a cool ride, but I much rather have Splash Mountain be the main water attraction for any Magic Kingdom style park. This would awesome if it was in Animal Kingdom, take out the god awful Kali River Rapids
@JKalama257997528 жыл бұрын
Fun Fact: I read that the reason why classic rides like Splash Mountain and Space Mountain weren't made in this park is because the Chinese Communist Government didn't let Disney, because the rides had become symbols of America. So they made Disney create new unique rides so there wasn't any cultural faux pas. This is why a lot of the rides from Shanghai may never come to America.
@AMagicProduction8 жыл бұрын
+JKalama no offense that makes no sense because Disney itself is an American Icon...
@rhollister90298 жыл бұрын
That is also why they didn't have "Main Street USA" but instead they chose "Mickey Avenue" BTW: Disney only owns 43% of the park, the rest is by the Chinese Communist Government

I love Kali River Rapids. It's my favorite ride at Animal Kingdom. That being said, I would prefer this if the animatronic bit was actually at the end. Would be nice to have an animatronic but the story of KRR would have to change, and that would kind of mess up the story of the section (fun fact: every section in Animal Kingdom has an entire story behind their themes).

Man, there not even remotely soaked. No surprise water spouts or slight overhead waterfall. Seems a missed opportunity to deliver the true essence of a tube rude. Seemed pretty boring except for seeing the Animatronic creature in the cave. It definitely looks terrific. Needs a Blutos Barge getting wet approach!!!
@benjacobs5747 жыл бұрын
wedimagineer13, some people, like me for example, prefer just getting wet, which dries off after a while, unlike getting soaked, which is fun while it happens, but is just uncomfortable for a very long time after.
@masands13427 жыл бұрын
Looking at those statues along the ride I notice the nice round mouths. As if made for squirting water. Perhaps that was intended but not implemented. Or perhaps turned off. I can't help but notice that the overall timing of the rafts is very 'off', bunching up even when not needed. Perhaps too 'off' to keep delay triggered water jets from blasting someone square in the face. Not good PR for a grand opening.
@ryankiser2944 жыл бұрын
On grizzly River run (a rapids ride in DCA) Disney can control how much you get wet, maybe this uses the same idea?
@3Davmawey8 жыл бұрын
Just wondering, am I the only one who's confused? I really appreciated the giant gator part, but as for the rest... where's the story? Where's the crescendo? Where are the immersive landscapes? I mean... small plants, clearly visible speakers everywhere, no music, doubtful theming... I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the ride, but is this really up to the standards of a Magic Kingdom (if we can call Shanghai Disneyland that) attraction? What do you guys think? I'd really like to know!
@AustinTexasDaddyBear8 жыл бұрын
Did you ever ride Grizzly River or Kali River when it first opened? Plants were not very big then and now its all grown up. And Grizzly River and Kali River really don't have "crescendo" events either but they are just fun.
@3Davmawey8 жыл бұрын
+Ian Olexsak ......This is why I have specified "Magic Kingdom" and not any other Disney park kind of ride
@AustinTexasDaddyBear8 жыл бұрын
So you are saying all other Disney theme parks are not on par with a "Magic Kingdom" style of park? And if you want to limit to just "Magic Kingdom" style of parks, every single one of them were not perfect when they opened at first. Tomorrowland could see the outside world when Disneyland first opened. Jungle Cruise looked barren for the first few years before it all grew in and looked better. MK in FL has attractions now that has speakers visible, saw them on Splash Mt my last trip in December. Im not trying to contradict you just for the sake of doing, it. Im just trying to point out that this park is a month old and it takes time for them to work these things out. Besides, this style of ride it truly hard to theme with story in my opinion. The boats are not able to be controlled in a way that focuses the attention of the riders. We can hope that in a few years when the plants grow and make the ride more lush that it will help with the idea of you being on a raging river in the mountains about to come face to face with a creature. We can hope.
@3Davmawey8 жыл бұрын
True that! But it wouldn't take much to add that typical Disney storytelling, for example, I'd add some Jumanji drum beat that grows louder and louder as you approach the mountain, along with with some eerie roars echoing in the distance, like in Expedition Everest... and there you go, the experience has gained some extra magic and guests will feel anxiety rising as they realize something big is about to happen. As for the plants yeah I suppose we have to wait for them to grow a bit higher, but I feel that perhaps, they should be more present and closer to the boats in certain spots. Oh well... let's wait and see
