Yup, by me around this time, and around 10AM is the time for fade. Bigger dish helps a lot, but still you get fade, so all it does is make the fade time smaller.

And I’m preparing by sending my station’s voice guy a disclaimer about the sun fade outages in case we do go off air. Because you know, gotta love them listener phone calls! 😂

I have portable radios at home tuned to AM for background and noticed that often during the warmer months, at night, the signal will get these random distortions or sound 'stretched' and get louder...then go back to normal...then do it again over and over. Sometimes it's annoying. Also, my 2013 Impala radio on some days barely picks up AM (outside of Detroit, WWJ, WJR specifically) and mostly static, then other days, clear as a bell. I understand that solar and atmospheric activity can affect this but really not sure if it is the radio acting up or environmental factors.

MEH!! I just looked at Westwood One’s handy calculator for sun fade info. Yucky duration numbers..:just YUCKY!
