My son and I each built a BB unit (June 2024). Would agree that the controller it comes with makes the BB very difficult to control since its either 0% or 100% power. The Droid Depot APP for your phone/ipad/tablet however, includes a digital controller which lets you control the BB unit much more precisely and do partial power. Still not perfect but a much nicer driving experience versus the included physical controller. Also lets you program 'dance' moves for any of the droids which is super neat.

Mine is named Bobbie B Beboop (must be said with intention to make musical beeping noises)- I will say however - Building a light saber has a story and entertainment factor that comes with it. The droid was - here you go pick out build it and go away feel. So if you are wanting an experience to go with it - there isn't one outside of what you make on your own. You do however get to build it (with parts available) as you want it. Check to make sure parts you want are there first before setting up.

Is there any other unique experiences around the park? Would love to know about any other personalized souvenirs/experiences eg. I heard you can get a caricature done near pirates of the Caribbean ( not sure if that’s true). I feel like you can get a lot of the merch outside the park for cheaper.

Thanks for making our planning a breeze, can’t wait to bump into you when we visit the parks in March I have a question, we are coming for 4 days March 11 to March 15th with a break day in between on the Wednesday So far we have Mon- DL Tuesday- DCA Thursday- DL Fri- DCA Travelling with my husband and 2 daughters 5 and 8 The first two days work great as the early entry would be in the other park so we might get a few rides done without the early entry crowd The question is if we should swap the last two days Pros: DL on Fri means we get to see the fireworks And no early entry crowd Cons: We would miss the Incredicoster as the refurbishment ends on the Friday so if we do DCA on Fri we get to do the rollercoaster but early entry crowd and the two less hours Note: DL is running until 12 AM the entire week and we have Genie plus for the entire duration of 4 days Please suggest 😂
@SoCalDisneyDad10 ай бұрын
That really just comes down to your priority, fireworks or roller coaster. I’d pick roller coaster personally, but we rarely watch the fireworks. With four days, the other thing to consider is a hopper. It’d be an extra $280 for your whole trip, but you can go back and forth as you please, and it’s a breeze to do. We ping pong back and forth regularly.

@@apoorvavajpayee6734 It’ll only affect Guardians and Radiator Springs Racers mostly. Crowd-wise, it might be a tad busier, but a festival will be going on and DCA is going to be slammed after hopping time one way or another. Thankfully, most of the crowds will be at the food booths.

I think its worth it if you want a custom one. Id probably just buy a default premade r2d2 or BB8. I think its cheaper. My adult brother made a custom red R2 droid. They gave him a free red head, they probably have a surplus of unpopular heads.
@SoCalDisneyDad11 ай бұрын
Based on Shop Disney it looks like the prebuilt R2 is still $99.99. And the BB-8 appears to be more expensive at $119.99. But that’s online. It might be $99.99 in store because the online is for anyone, and the WDW Droid Depot costs $119.99. And while it looks like you can custom build actual BB-8, the options don’t exist for R2 looking at my footage again. So that’s interesting to note.
