Part of me, (69 yrs old) is still a little boy who loves to watch the men push the dirt around with the big machines. What's the weekly fuel bill on a project like this?
@briansims82805 жыл бұрын
Ralph Averill each one of those machines will burn 150-200 gallons a day
@ralphaverill20015 жыл бұрын
@@briansims8280 Thanks. I assume then that the contractor probably has his own fuel tanker truck and buys the fuel at wholesale prices from the terminal.

Hi there I have been a mechanic in the industry for over 40 years all over the world and I know for a fact that there is a lay down and maintenance area on these sites. Could we see your cutting edge changing and maintenance areas. I have been on rock work in mining sites were the edges have to be changed twice in a 10 hour shift. Keep up the good work of earthmoving and videoing. Before CARB find a way of shutting you down. All the best.

Thanks for the video. Wondered how that project was proceeding. Brings back old memories. And I do mean old - I ran a push dozer in a big scraper (they were called 'pans' back then) project - and was operating a HD-41. Prolly some here that know what that was . . .

@@bladerunner6354 Yep, a triple shank ripper and 500 hp +. A lot back in those days. Great tractor. We built some lakes where there once was a pepper farm and used the spoils to make roads into the city and a golf course (Wellington, FL) and made main thoroughfares and a golf course for Boca Raton - when I was operating it.

@@bishop9598 I 'd like to try it out! I operated a Fiat-Alllis 16B for a couple seasons on a sod farm. Straight pipe and man she was LOUD!! Stumping and stripping top soil was awesome. I was spreading hops that got delivered from Budweiser brewery for fertilizer. That stuff grows grass forest green but man does it stink!! Unbelievable how much area one trailer dump would go. I haven't seen her in fifteen yrs but I can still hear her. The owner traded it for a brand new Dresser 25.
