The thread is just simple thread you can find in a sewing store or at the supermarket. It's a bit tighter than normal tread for sewing machines e.g.

Because the bladder leaked air at a huge amount so it cannot be fixed in another way

@@ball_one_de I think this ball is replica. The bladders surface seems smooth but if you inflate or stretch it you can see the rubber is thinner in points or lines. Over time the weak spots will rotten or brittle or burst due to weakness. I watched this video again and the bladder seems to be stratched (rubber became thinner in lines)
