There are slight differences in the rules between NFL and College, but it's never really an issue because if there's something that's different and it comes up, the commentators almost always explain what the rule is. The most common differences are that there are slight differences between what is considered a catch in bounds and what is considered pass interference. Other than that, it almost never comes up.

@@loganleroy8622 the ejection rule takes place in college football. Any hit to the head that isn't deemed unintentional is worthy of the offending player being kicked out of the game. Alot of hits in the NFL qualify for this rule but seem to be ignored.

The thing that makes this even more incredible is when you see the size of these men. Most of these men are over 6 feet tall many of them are 6 feet 3, 4, 5, 6 inches tall and they are HUGE! They are mostly muscle and weigh 240 to 340 pounds. It's pretty impressive meeting them in person and discovering how big they really are.

Oh, about possession of the football. If a forward pass gets thrown and nobody ever catches it and it hits the ground, then it's an incomplete pass and play is dead--if the ball doesn't hit the ground and is caught by the other team, or tipped and caught, then it's still a live play regardless of which team caught it. But if somebody has caught a pass, or is running with the ball, and they lose the ball (drop it, gets knocked out, whatever) then it's a fumble, and the ball belongs to whichever team ends the play in possession of it (falls on it, usually). And yes, a fumble can (usually) be picked up and advanced by either team until the ball carrier is tackled. If it goes out of bounds, it stays with the same team and the play is dead.

8:08 if the player doesnt posses the ball(catch it cleanly with two feet in bounds) unless they catch it in the air the ball is ruled dead. But if the player gets tackled and the ball comes loose it is dead if your body hits the gournd (except hand and feet). If the body doesnt hit the ground and the ball comes loose, and the player has possesion, its a fumble and whatevr team picks it up gets the ball. If the ball is loose and it goes out of bounds the ball is awarded to the team that had it. If it goes in the back of the endzone of the team thats trying to score, on its a touchback and the other team gets the ball

There are illegal hits but none of the ones shown in this video to my knowledge were. The big ones off the top of my head: - Horse Collar/Face Mask -you're not allowed to grab to jersey or helmet with your fingers to pull someone down - Unnecessary Roughness - you're not allowed to hit a player without the ball or who has yet to establish "control" of the ball. - Targeting - fairly new and created to prevent concussions, you're not allowed to hit your opponent with your helmet on their helmet

Yes, players can pick up the ball and run with it after a player drops it (fumble).As long as they don't fall to the ground and touched by the opposing team before they get back up. In College, once you fall to the ground you are considered down even without being touched.

Helmet to helmet is a 15 yard penalty.. but if its intentional you could get ejected. And a large fine. If you see a yellow flag go immediately you are in trouble. Most of these plays are penalties.

Madden, new player, doesn't know much of the NFL. turn off the "play clock" in the options. this will give you all the time you need to choose a play without encuring a penalty for "delay of game" while on offense, or the game "auto choosing" a play for you while on defense. there are other newbie tips to help with learning to play Madden. most important tip is to play the tutorials. it'll teach you how the controls work in all phases of the game

Those are a mixture of college football and NFL highlights. The rules are basically the same in terms of hitting...NFL allows a bit more leeway in hitting but neither of them allow helmet-to-helmet hits on a "defenseless player" (i.e., a receiver catching the ball that doesn't have the ability to dodge or brace himself). That's called "targeting" and is not only an unnecessary roughness 15-yard penalty, but can get a player ejected. The hard body shots and shoulder-into-the-gut tackles though? Perfectly legit, and in fact those are the cleanest hits. Also, in terms of lighter vs. heavier...most wide receivers (the pass-catching guys) are around 200 pounds +/- a bit, so they're by no means scrawny. Cornerbacks (the defensive guys who cover them) are about the same size, and safeties (the defensive guys who just sort of range in the backfield) can be a touch bigger. Linebackers are larger but not quite as fast. The linemen on both sides tend to weigh well over 250 pounds and in the NFL most are at or over 300. They're immense. So when you see a cornerback just bring a wide receiver to a dead stop and send them flying, they're within 30 or 40 pounds of each other. It's momentum and technique.
