The part of Terrell Owens slamming the Football down on the Dallas Cowboys Star logo back then was more of a disrespect move, sort of like marking his territory there. If I remember, one of the Cowboys players did the same thing to "Reclaim" their territory. And of course as you see here this was the third time overall, second time the 49ers did it. And now, if somebody does it, they will be fined for it.

Terrell Owens (TO) had scored another touchdown earlier. After he scored he ran the ball out to Cowboys star (their logo) at midfield and celebrated on the star. He then scored this touchdown and was running out to dance on the Cowboys star again when George Teague got angry and hit TO for it. The Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers were the two best teams in the NFL during the early and mid 90s. They had a very heated rivalry during this time as they played several times for the conference championship (all the winners of this game would go on to win the Super Bowl) but Dallas, in 2000, was a bad team and TO was just being a jack ass. TO would later become a Dallas Cowboy for three years. TO was a gifted wide receiver but he was brash and cocky and rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
@RookitMaster4 жыл бұрын
I can explain what happened, he scored a touchdown and ran back and placed the ball the the star, which is the cowboys (the other team) prized symbol, Its like taunting, like if i were to dance on the grave of some one you loved and telling you to come get me, thats kinda similar what he did.

4:24 Often at the end of a football game, if the team that's leading has the ball and the team that's behind has no time-outs left (they get three per half), the quarterback will often just take the snap and kneel down, stopping the play and letting the clock run, since the game clock keeps running if the ball stays inbounds. Normally the other team doesn't really contest it because there's nothing they can do. I don't know why this guy decided to go flying off the top rope unless he figured he had a one-in-a-million chance of hitting Michael Vick (the Jets' quarterback) before he knelt and knocking the ball out of his hands, causing a fumble that he could maybe recover. It's not really a cheap shot like some of the other stuff in the video, but it's just silly really.

At 4:25 the Jets (the offense) had the ball and were winning and since there were only 1:25 left and the Steelers didn’t have any timeouts, they were just going to knee the ball, as to run out the clock to end the game. This is a respect move, like to just end the game and not pad the score. Everybody knows you just stand there, it’s not supposed to be competitive, that’s why the fight happened. Ik I’m bad a explaining things, but I hope it helped.

QB slide - In the NFL there is a rule that when the quarterback BEGINS a slide feet first then he is down (play is over) where he starts the slide. Normally a runner must be touched while he is on the ground or going to the ground in order to be "down". They do this to keep QBs from taking big hits. If a defensive player hits the QB after he begins this slide then it is a personal foul and the offense is given an extra 15 yards.

Oh that’d be good. We had to do a Navy Seal program for our team, practiced for 3 hours every day with full contact starters vs starters. I was head up against the center at all times because we ran a 3-4 defense (3 linemen vs 5 linemen) and there were times when the O line would mess up, try to double team me and I’d be faster off the snap of the ball and get right through) I was 235 Ibs, 5,11 and I ended up putting my shoulder pad into the running back as soon as they made the handoff. I was big so I ended up shattering his face mask somehow. Anyways, I digress. I agree.. High School Football is so much more violent than the NFL, especially in smaller towns like mine. Almost the entire town would be at our games it was pretty surreal making hits like that. Felt primal yet so pure.

I’ll explain the one where the Steelers player jumped over the line. The other team the Jets were winning the game 20-13 and Pittsburgh had no more timeouts to stop the clock. So the Jets and most NFL teams in this situation do something called “taking a knee” and the formation they is is called the “victory formation”. To prevent a possible turnover and to run out the clock, the QB basically takes a step back and takes a knee which marks the play dead. Because it’s considered a run play the clock continues to run in exchange for a loss of down. So the plan is to use up the play clock all the way until 1 second left, take a knee, and repeat until the game clock hits 0 because the other team can’t stop the clock. When it’s this situation both teams just don’t try to do anything and agree the game is over essentially. However that player was like, “I’m still going to keep playing” so he jumped over the line to try and cause a turnover. This is considered sort of a “bad sportsmanship” move cause you can injure someone this way because they aren’t really playing and are typically not read for someone running full speed in this situation. That’s why the other team was so upset.

This is great. As a huge football fan, it's fun watching other people watching and learning the sport. In case you're still wondering, if the person who is carrying the ball starts to slide, there's no penalty, because they're not attempting a tackle. It's basically a form of surrender, and tackling a person after they've started sliding is a big no-no. However, if a person slides to tackle the person with the ball, that is a penalty.

On the swanton play, when a team just needs to kneel down and burn the clock to win the game the other team usually lets them, anything else they do is almost certain to fail and has a fair chance to cause an injury. What the player leaping over the line was trying to do was force a fumble to keep the game alive but, as you saw, the QB had already knelt before the leaping player reached him. The game was already effectively over and that leap had a real chance of injuring someone (particularly the QB) which is why everyone got upset.

At 4:25, player #23 was trying to copy a former player from his team, Troy Polamalu, a legendary Strong Safety. Strong Safety is a position where your job is to stop anyone who is running the ball, or if it's a passing play, cover a receiver. Polamalu did the move #23 tried to do, but he did it on time with the ball being snapped. #23 crossed the line of scrimmage before the ball was snapped, which is illegal. Plus, I believe the opposing team was intentionally downing the ball to end the play, which means #23 was just showboating and being an asshole. Honestly though, Troy Polamalu was one of the reasons my favorite team was the Steelers. Dude had such good game sense, he had all sorts of amazing interceptions and tackles. You should react to his Career Highlights.

Adam, a few things you need to understand: 1. Quarterbacks are protected, they can be hit while they are throwing the ball...but after the ball is gone they are no longer fair game. Also, if a quarterback runs the ball himself and slides, defensive players are not allowed to hit him in the slide. 2. Punt returners can signal a "fair catch" by waving their arm in the air before catching the ball. When a fair catch is signaled, they are not allowed to be hit unless they drop the ball first. When the punt returner does not signal a fair catch, he must be allowed an opportunity to catch the ball before being hit by a defender. Great vids...I enjoy your channel...Cheers Mate!

Adam putting more ads in his own video than the ads he complained about in what he’s reacting to. 😂 Worth it ;)

1:22 If anybody kneels or slides down, you can't get hit. You can get tagged, but not hit. This also applies to anybody, even smaller wide receivers, too.

Still need to watch some Bill Romanowski hits, he deliberately broke a player's jaw, and dislocated a former teammate's elbow.

Well damn, I live in Orlando. Wish I knew you were coming here. I could have met up with you and answered any questions you had about American Football. Hope you enjoyed yourself while you were here.

The guy who leaped over the line (Steelers - black and yellow) was angry that the opposing team (Jets - green and white) were about to win in an upset victory. The Jets were in what's called victory formation which is used to kneel down in order to run out the clock and end the game when you're ahead in the final seconds.
