I lived in Hollywood for a year and I didn't go to Amoeba once -- what's wrong with me? I lived in SF for a long time before LA, and I went to the one on Haight St. several times.

@@danieli.9252- If you weren't up near the Arclight on Sunset, just west of Vine in Hollywood, then you wouldn't have gone. Getting into and out of Hollywood could be a pain, but if you went to films at the Arclight, worked out at the 24 Hr Fitness in that complex, or took a cooking course in the complex, then you would have probably crossed the side street and visited Amoeba in Hollywood (on Sunset) to see some live acts and perused their music aisles.

it's seriously bands like soccer mommy and pheobe bridgers and snail mail that are single handedly keeping real indie music alive in these really weird and sonically strange times. so fucking comforting. like, i'm not really aware of any male bands out there right now doing straight up indie without any overly electronic elements added in....

This is great. Also, the drum sound is AWESOME. It sounds like real drums and the snare has dynamics instead of that thuddy white noise puff that snares sound like so much these days. I'd love to know how the drum sound was achieved! Also cool mic on the guitar amps. What is it!?

Glad you dig! Nothing too complicated... Shure KSM 141s on overheads, SM57 on snare, D6 on kick, DPA 4099s on toms, AEA N8 on floor tom. Out of frame is an AEA R88 for room mics (a big part of the sound). Various AEAs on guitars and bass (R44, N22 and R92).

"Back when I was young." ...She's like 23. Nice sounding music. I didn't hear a single lyric*, but it was pleasant to listen to. It would be good studying music. It's kind of the music that I would want to create if I ever get trough Fender Play far enough to figure out how to write songs. *SIDENOTE: I've never really heard lyrics, so not hearing a single lyric wasn't anything unusual for me.

Yea man I saw her in 2018 front row and I couldn’t believe how tiny she was especially for a white girl (whites tend to be real tall and just filled out) but Sophie was so tiny like an Asian girl and seeing her now, I mean yea love yourself but your body is still part of your health and yea it can definitely take a toll on you mentally and emotionally as well :(
