In general a lot of people don’t appreciate Villa for a couple of reasons. 1) the season itself has an asterisk beside it due to the injury crises of Spurs and Newcastle and 2) Villa will probably never get respect because they should have been relegated in 2020. It creates an asterisk to everything after that incident against Sheffield United.

Putting my City bias aside (City fan), for manager of the season I'd say Unai Emery. Nobody predicted them to finish 4th this season. As for player of the season, you've been fantastic Phil and deserve the award, but I personally would have given it to Watkins. Again, Watkins finished amongst the top in both goals and assists and was the key reason for Villa's unpredictable 4th place finish.

That's the worst football opinion I've ever seen. The guy scored nearly 20 in all competitions not including penalties. Right foot, left foot, headers, long range, tap ins, bullets, curlers, free kicks.. goals that were not counted as xg.. in other words, goals that most players wouldn't have scored. The variety and consistency demonstrate a top class attacker. 15 assists in his first full professional season in a team that was famous for wasting chances. You really have to be trolling.
