Strangely enough it's the same cars. My neighbors ran a 67 Camero with a 454 back in the early 70's. We went to Oswego or US30 on the weekends. The unusual thing for back then was my buddy's Mom drove it.

Hi Kevin, I had a red 79 this body style back in the early 80's amazing the craftsmanship to build it to racing spec. Most I got to do was high rise manifold and real dual exhaust. Always love the hei and tweaking the weights and springs. Also the factory steering components and suspension were kinda wimpy lol then kids happened best of luck with this beautiful girl

Very informative behind the scenes video. I'd like to see more of these and I too like a "pretty" car which soccer mom definitely IS. I've got pics of soccer mom from FL2K and another event here in Fl and we've talked before as well however there's not much you could do for me as I'm just an n/a street car guy. Looking into doing sick week hopefully there's a 10-11sec class but from listening in it seems they want MUCH faster cars. Keep up the good work and I'll see you at BMP at some time again.

Interesting comment regarding the engine+gearbox becoming part of the chassis. A lot of modern motorcycles do the same thing; the engine and gearbox are actually the forward-lower part of the frame. Cuts down weight and makes for a more rigid frame. Clever 👍🏻

Only time you get rid of the leaf springs is when you can’t get them to work. In this case ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Pretty impressive 60’ for leafs👍

solid mounted crossmember bolts into the tail housing.. might have some belville washers to allow the front of the frame to twist and not rip the bolts out of the aluminum tail housing.. even if its just on the drivers side bolt...

No, they can be painted. We have more work to do (seat mount, window net, driveshaft loop and floor patches) so we didn’t paint it yet.

The fabricator I am lucky to know and does work on my junk is at $185 an hour, you're right there in line with that number.
