These are fire boots. Feel more comfortable than the Predator 24's and I like that the tongue goes down further on the boot....except maybe the white/blue Beckhams, those are really comfortable.

I actually think the tongue adds a lot, especially as I currently play centre half, the flatter surface is basically a cheat code to taking the ball straight down from the air

The Predator Rapier from around 1996/97 (the ones Beckham scored from the halfway line against Wimbledon) were probably the best. My favourites for fit were the adipower predator, but, kept going back to Pantofola D'Oro and the original Puma King. EDIT - These look like a scaled down Predator Mania.

I really wish I liked these or the 24 Pred more. The uppers are just...fine. I think the knit revolution illuminated how you can have an upper that can mold to your foot (Tekela, Speedflow, Furon, Future, etc.) but still have a nice locked in secure feeling. The lack of malleability of the uppers was pretty disappointing of these preds. I actually think the Freak upper would be excellent on this model! I probably in the minority, but I would rather have the Nike GX2s, where the entire upper feels like a grip/strike element and it is ridiculously comfortable and really light. Great review, as always!

As far as how stiff the soleplate feels, I think they’re pretty similar. The zoom unit on the Mercs would be the big difference in terms of feel, but it’s more of a comfort/cushion thing, rather than making the boots feel more responsive IMO

I bought these recently and I own the Predator 24 Advancement colorway. I’m curious if the 2025 model will come apart around the laces area where the Hybridtouch is fused with the (unknown white material) This unknown material is exposed around the laces area.

Can someone please explain to me why the tounge is so big? What’s the point of the grip elements whne then you cover them up with a massive tounge. Terrible honestly

The tongue covers the laces so that it is a more controlled strike and on the tongue it has grip

Which SG boot would you recommend with a similar fit than the morelia 2s?

Maybe an Adidas World Cup, which is just a SG Copa Mundial. Unfortunately full leather options are getting harder and harder to come by, so your choices are limited. If the Copa Icon 2 comes out in SG, they wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Morelia 4 Neo Mix (not the beta version) is the closest thing to a Morelia 2 with an SG soleplate - there's a couple of models on tokyofootball website
