Corrections: Thanks to everyone who pointed out our errors. So sorry: 1. I said that it's the first war in Europe since WWII. That's incorrect. There have been wars in Balkans, between Cyprus-Turkey, Azerbaijan-Armenia, and Russia-Georgia before. 2. At, 3:16 I said that Vladimir Lenin led the revolution against the Tsar. In fact, Lenin led the revolution against the provisional government that was placed after the Tsar was overthrown. 3. At 7:47, I showed the map of the sectors of divided Berlin instead of West-East Germany. 4. Biggest error? I wore the t-shirt upside down! So sorry! We will work to ensure we don't commit these errors in the future. Thanks for your support :)

After the fall of Soviet Union, the USA and EU promised Russia in 1991 that no eastern European state would be incorporated into NATO. They broke their promise and brought 3 such states into NATO. Ukraine also wanted to join NATO and US was more than willing for that.. This time Russia said "we don't want more missile system and armies next door. So, they attacked Ukraine to leave a message for the Eastern Europe

Let's get more realistic about this war : It doesn't matter whether Russia completely wins against Ukraine or Not . But what would happen after all of this is a cold war situation . With all these sanctions , Russia and its allies will be on one side of the world and the entire west on the another side . And if such situation continues , then just like world wars , all we need is small sparks ..and one of those small sparks may led to another World war. I hope Situation doesn't escalate otherwise its inevitable for India will also get grinded in this.

@_ashmason007
@_ashmason007 2 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Very well put. Both outcomes of the current war are going to result in some sort of international conflict with divided teams. \\ If Russia decides to surrender, they still have a huge amount of sanctions that are going to make it impossible for it's citizens to live in Russia. Not only that, but they also do not have the amount required to compensate for the thousands of lives they have killed, injured, and the property they have damaged. They already face huge debt. Putin will do whatever possible to either go on war with other small countries for resources. If he resigns, it will still take a huge amount of time for ministers to get the country moving again. The citizens will flee to other parts, and there will be a refugee crisis as Russia is one of the biggest countries in the world. Plus there won't be any countries who will accept Russian citiznes. Even though this is mainly Putin's doing, not everyone knows that. Many are still going to look down on the citizens too. Esxpecially Ukrainians, they can never be on very friendly terms with them again. \\ If Putin decides to go on his path of mayhem, he still has a chance of losing. If they somehow win and take control of Ukraine, they face conflict with almost every other country in the world except for china and India( although we shall soon have to make our decision on which side to be on) and become a hermit kingdom like North Korea. Which won't work because North Korea has facilitated itself since a long period of time to adjust being an independent country and Russia had not. Russia will then have no option but to march upon neighboring European countries for resources, which will escalate into a full-fledged war and will affect all countries to some extent. Either way, we approach a big event in history. And we have no choice but to face the consequences. I think constantly reminding ourselves that only one man is behind all of this and not any country is important. Accepting others from different parts and being kind and hospitable is vital!

Mohak is little biased. He only researches from one perspective. All his researches depend on the West Media which do a lot of propaganda. He is concluding Putin is a Dictator by quoting reasons such as controlling media and engaging in nationalism. Guess what all American and Western leaders are doing from a long time? America controls media internationally, whereas Putin controls Russian Media. In this sense, American leaders have to be considered as bigger dictators. Don't get me started on American nationalism, if American leaders have done something successfully consistently, it is hyper nationalism. World affairs doesn't have crazy flashy graphics, but the analysis is always on point

So nato should just go away bcoz Soviet fell?? Nato countries no longer wanted security? Thats not how it works. To all of my Brothers and Sisters siding with Ukraine or Russia, Now-a-days Idealism is often irrelevant especially if your enemy provokes or threatens your security. Let me present my view on this, I fully agree that Ukraine or atleast its innocent citizens are definitely not responsible for this tragedy, as it is sovereign right of every country to decide whether or whether not to join any organisation or forum as some of you mentioned the incidents that occurred in the past that made Ukraine inclined to join Nato, Now nor it is the complete fault of Russia, they are countering the hostility that is looming over their country. Imagine the case if Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan one after another joined in an anti-India group lead by China and India did everything to secure its interest but at-last failed and now next and final straw Nepal is also committing to join, would you think India would not do anything to secure its interest and topple the anti-India regime of Nepal. Offcourse committing war-crimes on innocent citizen can never be justified and I am sure that India would never do that, but it's not necessary that everyone else should have policies like India, simply put you don't have control over the extent that any other person could go through to safeguard his/her nation. The only side I think responsible is the Western countries, especially America. First they kept driving Russia insecure over course of decades by influencing one after other country to join Nato, second when their adversory attacked on their friend, they left it all alone. If you are so commited for security of your ally why did you left them to die at first place. They are even suppling amunitions and aid just only with a motive to weaken Russia, not that of saving Ukraine, offcourse keeping their own intrest and welfare in mind. So In geopolitics, nothing else is wrong or right, but the interest of one's country. And thats what India is doing by refusing to pick sides as this is not our war. I am especially concerned for safety of Indian citizens, And yes we should pray that this war should be over as soon as possible, because in war only fear and hatred wins and everything/everyone else looses. I HOPE, I PRESENTED MY POINT Of VIEW REALISTICALLY. Stay rational and Peaceful.

Finally someone with a rational pov. I read many takes on this specific issue, and saw many of my fellows agreeing to side with Russia or Ukraine because of trivial issues unrelated to the current scenario,for eg-many justify taking Russia's side just because Ukraine opposed India at the UN conference. But in reality, if India really does side with any one country, it will spark off many major economies to pick up a side too, and when countries harbouring this much power (both military and economic), another world war is bound to happen. It's just wise and safe for India to be neutral as long as possible.

You used the the map of west and west Berlin to show the map of east and west Germany. 3.Boris Yelsin was the one to given the Russian economy the shock therapy which led to rampant capitalisms without any regulation which led to unfair competition and creation of notorious Russian oligarchs. 4. 5:25 It's overly simplistic to say USSR didn't "industrialize" due to Communism. USSR was centrally managed State Socialism which was created by Lenin to win the Civil War & militarily strengthen USSR to protect from foreign threats (lessons learned from Paris Commune & foreign intervention during Civil war). Russian Empire was a backwater neo-feudal state with some industry in urban areas. Lenin's command economy which Stalin centralised further helped them transform the agrarian state into a superpower in just 20 years. During peacetime, they foolishly continued their philosophy of producing consumer goods as per need. Their shelves were empty bcoz their philosophy dictated to produce only the amount that was needed. They focused on "need to have", not "nice to have" like cars. The only nations that were industrialised back then were Western nations, who united together to isolate USSR. So USSR had to rely on self-sufficiency & raw materials from non-Western aligned agrarian nations. Any nation isolated from intl' trade, regardless of its philosophy & geopolitical realities, cannot prosper. On top of that, they bankrupted themselves in the Afghanistan war. The incompetency of the leaders to adapt to the situation, ever-changing tech-fueled economy & consumer needs led to the collapse of the USSR. TLDR: They made a mistake by continuing the same philosophy during the Cold war, which helped them industrialise in 20 years (1921-1941)

Spot on comment. The war with AFG and oil price fluctuation along with absence of strong leadership in USSR led to its fall. But I would also add the point of people's greed to be rich capitalists like in USA that may have been another factor here.
@jackiecooper9439
@jackiecooper9439 2 жыл бұрын
@@shiprapaul2033 Very true. The faction which took hold of Moscow area local govts during Brezhnev, were greedy. Cracks began to appear during his premiership. The greed & corruption spread & eroded the USSR from within. Boris Yeltsin & the present oligarchy was born from that faction.

How? Ukraine wants to secure itself from Russian aggression (ex: Chechnya), so it wanted to join NATO. Russia has no right to invade Ukraine, if it does not comply with Russia's terms. Imagine if China launched an attack on India because we joined QUAD. Ridiculous, isn't it?
@atharvaj3302
@atharvaj3302 2 жыл бұрын
@@AbhijayAgarwal Bro that's the point. Ukraine does want to join NATO but NATO shouldn't allow them. This is what the Warsaw pact says when USSR was broken. They said back then "not an inch towards east". And then the world witnessed 5 waves of NATO expansion. Doesn't matter if countries want to join or not. NATO countries like USA UK France have to stand by the statement they said.

I watched a video about How Putin become powerful and how Navalny is putting up a strong opposition by Vox. Both were very detailed and well illustrated. Your video explained all the details about Putin's making since the collapse of USSR, in a very crisp way. You should have also mentioned about the war in Chechnya, and how Putin resorted to war crimes even in Syria. Otherwise very well explained Mohak. Good work. 💯

what a shallow analysis! what about NATO's hostility after the collapse of the soviet union? NATO kept threatening russia for no reason and tried to incorporate georgia and ukraine into NATO. they wanted to place nukes on the russian border. Putins action are understandable in this context!
