As we all saw, UP mafia don turned politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were gunned down on live television. The news immediately prompted severe, polarizing reactions, not only from India but everywhere else too. While many celebrated the death of a dreaded criminal who had been responsible for a reign of terror in Uttar Pradesh for four decades, others saw the killing as a complete breakdown of law and order. When I conducted a poll on my KZbin community page, the responses were equally divisive. So, I began to wonder why some people celebrated, while others thought Ahmed's killing set a dangerous precedent for our democracy. My friend ButWhy and I got together, and we tried to analyze the arguments both for and against the killing and reach our own conclusion.

I am from UP. Judiciary is joke. Those Mafias and Gangstars know that it will take years for judgement and at last they will get life imprisonment which is still better as they can run business inside the jails. 😕 THEY HAVE NO FEAR. 10 judges refused to take Atiq Ahmed case. No punishment was given to him in last 40 years until now. Only Encounter and Instant Justice can help overcome this problem. It brings relief to the victims and their families.

It is absolutely guaranteed that in the case you described , ie, if activists and common people were encountered and killed, there would be a huge push back from the entirety of society because the majority of people would be against the killing of "mostly" innocent people. That is also why this type of justice is only useful against massive organized crime syndicates, which was proved by the Mumbai underworld extinction. It won't help to solve petty and sporadic crime, nor should it be because then the consequences will definitely outweigh the benefits.

When 11 judges refused to hear Atiq's case from fear of Atiq Ahmed, the court and judicial system got shut down from that day. That's why Mumbai police did so many encounters and now Mumbai is free of crime. Now in this Yogi government, if up police is given freedom of encounters then you'll see how up changes. Yogiji is now doing that. When justice and court fails to give justice to the innocents then encounter and killing of these wanted criminals is the last thing to give justice to the innocents.

At least in case of assailants who have been accused on a large number of heinous crimes, special tribunals should be set up to deliver justice for the thousands of people affected. Hi everybody I am from UP. In my opinion there are two problems -first is the awareness and education among people regarding their rights and second is the slowness of judicial system. As it is mentioned in the video that it will take 324 years to solve the pending cases and there is a lot of vacancy for the lawyers, but my point is why are we not able to fill those vacancies if we are having a large and young population. Why our educational institutes not producing good and honest lawyers and judges, so that they can solve the cases in less time? In this scenario, if a person with over 100 cases and that too of heinous crimes is killed by some people, then isn't it okay? And if you look at the death of Atiq, then it is a complete failure from the police point of view. So the problem is holistic and not just one. These are my personal opinions. I apologize if anybody is hurt.

I have a solution for clearing the court cases backlog. Now that we have large language models at our disposal and since what penalty is given to what crime is already provided by constitution this can be coded into a decision tree. All the documentation including evidence and appeals from all the previous cases that have run can then be used to train this model that adjusts weights and biases of the system about how a judge takes decisions. Then it's probably a matter of a few weeks and all your cases will be solved.

Correction: The battle of Mahabharat and Ramayan was not fought for revenge but instead it was fought to establish Dharm( Truth or Righteosness). If you look at epic superficially as portrayed in soap operas or in popular culture, it would look like the characters have their own personal motivations for a conflict. The characters are the stmbolic representation of our own tendencies and the protagonist krishna( the embodiment of righteousness) guides Arjun (listerner) to fight the right battle. He didnt fought for revenge, greed, expansionism or sheer madness but he fought for justness.

All these systems and laws will never work in india as people are less tolerant,more uncivilized ,do crime purposefully to built themselves up ..USA and other countries policies will never work on Indians...india needs to make it's own kind of laws and policies on crime and harsh criminals ....in such extreme cases were police and even judges are afraid of the criminal encounter should be one of the parts of that law .....not on all cases but incase of gangster and mafias it should be a part of it.....
