This is crazy to discover. I've always thought if Pearl Jam did a cover album this should be on it. This was great

MY GOD, Blew me away. Love both Social Distortion & Pearl Jam. Unbelievable to see McCreedy Jammin' with these guys.

I first seen social distortion open for mettallica. In 96. Great band. Underrated in my opinion.

I turned 21 in 92 & it was the last truly great time for rock&roll ...I feel almost honored to be that age at that time,so many classic albums came out in just a few short years,I always thought another crop of great bands would come along but it never happened...damn shame

YES where were the kids that got to GROW UP with these guys inspiring them?! Same with me. Graduated hs in 1989. Don't care what the internet says, the 80s had SLIM PICKINGS for music lovers. PJ, HIP and all the others hit right after and it was like wtf, where were these great bands when I had so much to express. Felt Ed's angst long before I had him to share it with. So THANKFUL MCFREAKINCREADY and the boys are still out making music in 22!!! ✌️🤍🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥

It’s so true. Mike is the original punk rock hard luck kid. I’m grateful those that may have some semblance of success give credit where it’s long overdue. I only wish Dennis were around to soak it all in, too…

Album sales have nothing to do with talent. The Ramones made more money from T shirt sales than album sales. Social D is fantastic at what they do. Punk, Rockabilly and old school country heartbreak. It’s the sound and guitar tone I’ve heard in my head since I was a kid.

Eddie Vedder, a true Rock legend. I admit I'm growing old, but will always take pride in the fact that I grew up during the revival of true rock. the 90's was a great time for great, amazing music, at least I can take that to my grave. so many amazing memories
@arrya53728 жыл бұрын
+jeffglenellen I took the 90's for granted. Such a simpler and magical time for the youth. Music was a huge part of this era.

I was 13 when this song came out and about 14 when Pearl Jam hit it big. While my girlfriends were listening to NKOTB, Vanilla Ice, etc, I was listening to Social Distortion, Pearl Jam, REM, etc.
@ramcharger1548 жыл бұрын
Hated Vedder and Pearl Jam because I was much too edgy for that shit. Lmao. They deserve every dollar and accolade. They are true musicians and so are Social D.
@johnanderson86247 жыл бұрын
I admit I'm growing old...what's this gettin old sh#t? you are old! HAHA! just kidding. i grew up seeing Bob Segar, MC5, Savoy Brown, Ruby Starr and Grey Ghost, the Stooges, Alice Cooper etc. in a small town in southern Michigan at a venue that held 400 tops! We went to see Social D friday nite at the palladium in Wocester. i felt 17 again. GREAT SHOW!
@tylerkeller88696 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, I agree completely. In addition, i feel that the early 90's was the last TRUE revival & landmark within the history of Rock. As much as I love & enjoyed the bands during the early '00's "Nu-Rock" period, they just didn't have the substance that PJ, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, The Pixies, Soul Asylum... and any of the other bands I have left out, contributed to rock.
@johnny-r Жыл бұрын
When you listen to Social D, it doesn't matter if the sound is good or bad, if the picture is good or bad, makes no difference - you always feel a little bit better than you did before you started listening. I don't know what it is about Mike Ness, but he resonates at a level few rockers ever have.

I'm a huge Social D fan and a Pearl Jam fan too. Always thought those two worlds should never collide. But they did and I'm cool with it since Social D is the band getting props. I once read an artical in Guitar World or one of the other guitar mags where Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) gave Mike Ness his due for his guitar chops. Long live Social Distortion.

Two greatest fucking bands ever. Seriously. Pearl Jam and Social D... that's like two bands who are too good to be from this fucking planet, playing together. Fuck, man. I love that they love eachother. Pearl Jam has a song called Down that was cut from their '02 album Riot Act that was written (I believe music and lyrics) after PJ went to see Social D in LA, and shows a great deal of Social D influence. This is awesome. How many great bands love eachother like that? :D

This was one of the many highlights of the night. I've seen many, many concerts in my life & I've never seen any of the main act come on stage during the warmup acts performance. Thanks for posting this. Does Eddie & Pearl Jam do this a lot? This was my 1st ever PJ concert. I then went to the 10/31 concert to close the Spectrum & Eddie came out for 1 song w/ Bad Religion.

You can show a sensitive side when you're an ACTUAL badass. When you're just playing at it, you have to be hard all the time. Mike Ness knocked out a dude with one punch and didn't even put his beer down. He's the realest deal there is.

Anyone ever heard the version these 2 did in Hollyweird with Beck? There was a bootleg way back in the Limewire days. It's sooo good. Well produced, but live. Give you my first born for a lost copy. Lol. Actually, that kids alright. Maybe my next one... Haha.

yeah that's Atom Willard on the drums, he played in Rocket From The Crypt, The Offspring, Angels & Airwaves... and some other bands for a short time period. Atom is a good drummer... but I totally miss Charlie Quintana, he was awesome!! He fitted in perfect with Social D. And a Social D track should never be played with Eddie Vedder.. it sounds awful! I did like it when Mike Ness and Johnny 2 Bags came on stage with Pearl Jam for the song Down, that sounded pretty good. :)
